Manish Malhotra Closes India's First Digital Fashion Week With Traditional Angrakhas For Men

Manish Malhotra closed the first-ever digital fashion week helmed by the Fashion Design Council Of India with his collection 'Ruhaaniyat' this week.

The India Couture Week was a 6-day long showcase wherein designers presented their collections on FDCI's Instagram page. The designers chose starry montages that highlighted the theme of their collection by using elements of light and sound.

For this year's collection- Ruhaaniyat, ispiration was taken from the Mughal era. The visual imagery can be attributed to the 'dedicated effort to capture this visual spectacularity in its true grandeur and opulence.' The stunning montage highlights the charm of the majestic era.

The menswear in the collection comprised of jama, angrakha and heavy shawls for men in pure and cotton silks, mashru, velvets, and muslins.

These would be ideal for a groom at his wedding, reception and engagement nights. In fact, Manish Malhotra couture always offers the fluidity of blending in western elements. Even sneakers would look great with the angrakhas when styled well.
