Now that Lakshadweep has managed to stay this way for the past eight months, many schools in the region are re-opening and are welcoming students with balloons and fresh paints.
The Union Territory has more than 11000 students that are studying around 53 schools in the ten inhabited islands.

The islands have a population of approximately 64,000 and have been able to stay Coronavirus free and the UT also made testing mandatory for the residents before arriving at the island. They also kept a very strict quarantine policy for the residents.
Even before the lockdown was announced in March, the UT authorities shut down its ports and airports for tourists. Residents were also only allowed to return if they were COVID-Negative.
