Whenever a new gadget or console is announced, the internet is quick to make memes out of them, relating them with real-life objects. The case remained the same after Microsoft unveiled the design of the ‘Series X’ when people started comparing it with a refrigerator online. Well, that did not stop Microsoft from marketing the new console by actually embracing the meme and making a life-sized working fridge that uses the same design as the Series X. The company sent the fridge to a YouTuber this past weekend and it seems like the company spared no expense.

“You knew we had to do this,” wrote Xbox marketing boss Aaron Greenberg. “Check out the full unboxing of the fastest, most powerful fridge!”

From the image, we can see Microsoft literally made an entire fridge that even came with its own retail packaging that we’ve already seen for the Series X. It mimics the console’s packaging and even design aesthetics. For example, the Xbox logo glows just like it does on the console and even has a slot for the Ultra HD Blu-ray player. 

Microsoft is sending these life-sized fridges to other celebrities as well including Snoop Dogg.

This is not the first time Microsoft has embraced a popular meme as the company poked fun at the joke themselves by comparing the Series X with a fridge in one of its tweets.

The Xbox Series X and Series S are both set to launch all over the world including India on November 10th. The Series X sold out in India in a matter of minutes and retails here for Rs 49,990 while the Xbox Series S costs Rs 34,990. 

The Xbox Series X is powered by an 8x Zen 2 Cores clocked at 3.8GHz, 16GB GDDR6 RAM, 1TB of internal storage with the option for expandable storage through a 1TB Expansion Card. The Series X has enough power to run four current-generation games at the same time and also has dedicated hardware for ray-tracing effects. We will know more about the console soon once we get to try it out for ourselves in the coming week before it launches in India.
