Republic TV Editor-In-Chief Arnab Goswami has been a hot topic of discussion since early morning and people, both haters and supporters want to know what feathers the guy has ruffled this time.
While it’s clear that the Mumbai Police yet again paid a visit to Arnab and took him into custody in a 2018 case which has been reopened, this isn’t the first time the Prime Time journalist has locked horns with the police.
Here’s a look at four recent instances when Arnab Goswami was found to be at loggerheads with the police.

Earlier today Arnab Goswami was arrested by the Raigad and Mumbai Police in relation to a 2018 Alibaug suicide case on abetment to suicide charges. The case deals with the death of a 53-year-old interior designer and his mother at their residence.
Reportedly, the suicide note left behind by the deceased Anvay Naik claimed that Arnab and two others owed huge sums of money to his architecture firm. While Arnab’s ARG Outlier reportedly owed Rs 83 lakh for building the channel’s studio, along with IcastX/Skimedia and Smartworks, the three companies collectively owed them Rs 5.40 crore.
In May earlier this year, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said that the case will be reopened by the CID following Naik’s daughter’s request.

After two top Republic TV editors appeared before Mumbai Police's crime branch to give their statements in an alleged fake TRP scam in October, it was reported that Arnab was also called in for questioning by Mumbai Police because Republic TV was suspected to be involved in TRP manipulation. Allegedly, the TRP scam involved certain news channels manipulating BARC data to boost their ratings and channel TRPs. However, Arnab has not been established as an accused in the case yet.

Previously, in two separate incidents, Arnab had two FIRs registered against him on charges of instigating communal tension and spreading hatred between communities. In one incident, a man named Irfan Abubakar Shaikh accused Arnab of spreading hate against the Muslim community in connection with the migrant workers protest outside the Bandra station.
In another FIR registered at Civil Lines police station, Bilaspur, Arnab was blamed for giving the Palghar mob-lynching debate a communal colouring. Finally, in October, the Mumbai Police served Arnab with a show-cause notice over the alleged provocative comments.

In April earlier this year, Arnab was summoned by the Mumbai police in connection with an FIR filed against him for defaming Congress president Sonia Gandhi. The FIR which was filed by Maharashtra Energy Minister Nitin Raut, came after Arnab allegedly accused Sonia Gandhi of getting the Palghar victims killed and sending reports to Italy about how she pulled off doing away with Hindus in her governing states. Following the summons, the police held a 12-hour interrogation with Arnab.
