Adobe Officially Ends Support For Its Famous Flash Software & It's Truly The End Of An Era

Adobe has scheduled the end of support for its famous Flash software on December 31st, 2020, which means it's over. While Adobe won't start blocking Flash content until January 12th, major browsers will shut it down soon if they haven't already.

Flash has a huge name in web history and it has enjoyed massive cultural relevance over the years. Adobe's Flash software has been in service for over a decade now, making it harder to say goodbye.

While Adobe is finally letting go of Flash, it will continue to live on in many historical artifacts. The Internet Archive is preserving Flash games and some popular animations like β€œPeanut Butter Jelly Time.”

We all may have different memories with Flash but there's no denying that it has helped us in some way or the other. A lot of people have come out on Twitter to bid adieu to Flash, with many getting emotional.

Lastly, we'd like to point out that Adobe recommends removing the software from your computers due to security concerns. As much as we love Adobe's Flash, it only makes sense to remove any and all unsupported softwares from our system as soon as possible.Β
