Videos Of Haryana Police Using Tear Gas On Farmers Surface Online & Here’s The Truth Behind It

Three Bills related to agriculture were passed in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha in September 2020. The Bills were, Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act 2020.

After the bills were passed, farmers started to protest and showed their displeasure with these new laws and have been holding protests at the Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur borders of the national capital against the Centre's new farm laws for a while now.

On Sunday, the videos of Haryana Police using tear gas on farmers started to go viral.

This is 5 km from #Dharuheda, on Jaipur-Delhi highway, 80 km from #Delhi. Police is using excessive force, hundreds of rounds of tear gas has been lobbed. The fault of farmers is that they want that Min Support Price of their crops, which is announced by Center should b assured ! pic.twitter.com/ZngQ6Podf8

When people saw the videos, people stood divided on the whole issue. While a few people felt bad seeing the brutality of the police, others supported the police as farmers have blocked the highways and people are saying these are not peaceful protests.

Hurting ur own civilians omg new low.

Didn't supreme court say no interference in the peaceful protests.

So will supreme court take action against violence against protestors stopping them from protesting?

Blocking highway is NOT peaceful protest

Speechless..to farmers of India...I'm Sorry u bear this...to people who elected this evil regime..I'm sorry you are responsible..to people who silently watch..I'm sorry you too will be effected..we are all in this collectively..its a collective failure..

police is very reasonable to these farmers. Tear gas is not fatal for misled farmers.
In kashmir people who speak against govt are showered with bullets and pellets.

Modiji is very soft towards these farmers.

Do Human Rights matter in india. Is there rule of law in india. Farmers are peacefully protesting for their rights..Is thus brutality valid on peaceful protest .. @hrw @CIJ_ICJ @UNHumanRights ???

How many such incidents will it take to make people realize the real unsympathetic,
insensible, & dishonest nature of the person they have elected as PM #WakeUPIndia#ModiWrongNumberHai

The incident occurred near Sangwari village in Rewari district, on NH-48, about 16 km from Gurgaon.

Confirming the incident, Rajesh Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bawal, told Indian Express, “The protesters said those who had gone ahead did not have enough provisions. They asked for permission to go to them and set up langar and were allowed to do so. However, when they got there, the entire group tried to break through the barricades and move forward.”

What do you have to say about this whole incident?
