2020, so far, has been the weirdest year that we've lived in terms of everything. And it looks like 2021 is living up to the challenge in terms of the bizarreness, in a good way, of course. 

In terms of varying fashion and grooming trends, now that we've all started stepping out more often, people want to clearly experiment more with their personal style than ever before.

In this weeks' bizarre trends, we have the eye-brow raising, the viral trend of the monkey tail beard. 

We've noticed that men across different social media platforms are using their accounts to share the new style that they've mastered. 

They're proudly posting selfies of their face with the unconventional beard style.

As the name suggests, the monkey tail beard momics the tail of a monkey when the beard is styled. It is shaped in a way that beard growth looks like a big swirly eddy.  

Besides the monkey tail beard, this beards is also known as the cat tail beard, it's definitely unconventional and weird-looking, but who knew it would gain a sizeable following on social media. 

The trend first started back in September 2019 when MLB star baseball player Mike Fiers, the pitcher of the Oakland Athletics, pulled off the bizarre beard, although he was mocked at by his fellow teammates.  

Here's what it looked like: 

If you wanted to try this bizarre beard style at home, it can be best described as beard growth that starts at one of the sideburns on the face, then it swiftly runs down the jawline, the beard growth then loops around the mouth in an angular fashion, and lastly, rests above the lip where the beard finally ends.  

It is as weird as beard trends can come.   

In fact, many people are now taking inspiration, and showing their version of the monkey tail beard on social media. 

When it comes to bizarre beard and moustache styles, in general, there are varying ones to choose from, in fact, some of them have recently made rounds on the internet. 

These include the Hungarian moustache, the pornstache, the chin strap, circular beard, or maybe even a pair of so-called mutton chops if you’re feeling adventurous.
