Thanks to OTT platforms, new doors have opened for fresh content and talented actors who deserve to be celebrated. One such actor is Sanya Malhotra who is extremely talented and deserves our support as her script sense and acting are on point. She is celebrating her birthday today with the teaser of her upcoming movie, Pagglait. After watching the teaser, we can't wait for the film to release already.

The teaser shows that Sandhya and her husband Astik have just been married for 5 months. Unfortunately, Astik passes away and after his death, his family is in mourning while Sandhya can't feel anything. In the teaser, she says, “I don't feel like crying and I am feeling hungry." It’s quite an unusual subject as we haven’t seen anything like this in Bollywood before.

The official synopsis of the movie reads as “Something tells us that not being able to cry is the smallest of Sandhya's problems. When Sandhya's husband suffers an untimely death, just a few months into their marriage, a slew of revelations forces her to re-examine her priorities and make some hard decisions. Pagglait is the journey of a young widow as she learns how to free her crazy, face the family and find herself."

People are loving Sanya Malhotra’s act in the teaser and also feel that she deserves way more credit than she is getting. Sanya has always proved her mettle and her script sense makes her stand out from her contemporaries.

Talking about the movie, Sanya said, “So thrilled to announce this film which is very close to my heart on my special day. I essay the role of Sandhya, a character very different from what I have previously portrayed on-screen. My Pagglait journey was Pagglait indeed- and I can’t wait for the world to witness this unique story very soon.”

Sanya made her film debut with Aamir Khan's Dangal. She was later seen with Ayushmann Khurrana in Badhaai Ho, with Radhika Madan in Pataakha, with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Photograph, and last year in Anurag Basu's Ludo.

It’s one of the important reasons that we need to support this movie as we hardly see female actors leading a comedy. It will be interesting to see Sanya in such a role.
