What most people don’t realise is that Emraan Hashmi actually trumps them all. The man is a proper horologist. He has even confessed that whenever he goes on a vacation, the first thing he does is visit a watch boutique. Clearly, the man is obsessed with timepieces.

Emraan recently gave us yet another example of just how much he is into classical timepieces when he was spotted in Mumbai, promoting his upcoming film Mumbai Saga, wearing one of the coolest watches we have ever seen a celebrity wear.

But first, let’s take a look at his outfit.

Emraan Hashmi was seen wearing a basic, but red T-shirt along with a pair of regular fitting denim. Along with that, he also had a pair of aviator shades and a couple of wristbands, which actually looked quite dapper.

The sneakers that we see him wear, is indeed a thing of beauty. He’s wearing the Air Max Impact 2 Lace-Up Basketball Shoes from Nike, and man, it truly is awesome.

It has been designed keeping professional basketball players in mind and has exaggerated proportions to make them easier to put on and adjust. The tongue, for example, is huge and sticks out of the top. The upper of the sneakers are also a little wider to allow for a better fit and grip.

At Rs 8,195, the sneakers actually aren’t that expensive when you consider that we have seen celebrities wearing sneakers worth lakhs of rupees.

The statement piece, however, has to be the watch that we see Emraan Hashmi is wearing. Fans of astronomy and space would surely love to get their hands on this one.

The watch we see here is not just designed to function flawlessly in space, it’s actually been to the moon. Well, not this exact piece.

Emraan is wearing the Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Co‑axial Master Chronometer from Omega. This is the same watch that Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins wore during the Apollo 11 mission to the moon. In fact, Aldrin & Armstrong actually wore the watch during their walks on the moon.

What the astronauts & Omega did, were take a regular Speedmaster, replace the steel straps with something that would fit over the spacesuit, tested it thoroughly under pressure, and extreme G-forces, and just went with it. Ever since then, Omega has been making the same watches for astronauts, and fans of astronomy.

One would assume that watch with this sort of a legacy would be expensive. Well, it might not be affordable for some of us, but it ain’t exactly expensive, at least in terms of what watches with such a legacy, usually costs.

All in all, that’s a dope looking watch. This just goes on to show, that more than bling or anything else, Emraan is actually drawn to legacy. In other words, the man has a very sophisticated taste when it comes to watches.
