Actor Adarsh Gourav, who played the lead role in Ramin Bahrani’s The White Tiger, bagged the nomination in the lead actor category at BAFTA 2021.

The film had Adarsh Gourav, Priyanka Chopra and Rajkummar Rao playing integral roles in The White Tiger directed by Ramin Bahrani. The story revolves around the character of Balram Halwai, who lives in Laxmangarh village, who becomes a successful entrepreneur from scratch. He becomes the driver of a rich man from Delhi and later ends up murdering his boss.

Adarsh Gourav’s performance in the film impressed everyone so much that he stole the spotlight from Priyanka Chopra and Rajkummar Rao in the film.

So, here’s all we know about Adarsh Gourav, who just bagged a BAFTA nomination in the lead actor category- 

Adarsh was a musician and the lead vocalist of a rock band, Oak Island which was also featured in MTV Indies-Never Hide Sounds.  

Adarsh who is originally from Jamshedpur is also trained in Hindustani classical music for over 9 years and has also worked with a lot of people from the industry including Sukhwinder Singh, Illayraja, and Subhash Ghai. 

Adarsh Gourav made his big debut with Shah Rukh Khan’s movie My Name Is Khan. He played the role of young Rizwan Khan. Since then, he has already worked with prominent names like Manoj Bajpayee, Sridevi, Kumud Mishra, and more. 

Some of his notable performances before The White Tiger are from Rukh, Mom, Leila, and Hostel Daze.
