There are people who start trends, and there are people who follow trends. But, there is a third category of people, who observe things and predict when a trend will explode and are able to capitalise on it. 

Davinci Jeremie is one such trend-spotter.

About 8 years ago, when most people just had a vague idea about the concept of cryptocurrencies and particularly Bitcoin, Davinci, a Chilean national, was advising his YouTube subscribers to invest a dollar in Bitcoin. 

That’s it, just a dollar.

He had predicted that in the longer term, people who would smartly invest in Bitcoins, would turn out to be millionaires. 

And you know what, he was right.

In 2013, the value of a Bitcoin started out at $233 before it plummeted to $50 and then, ending the year at a steady $70. Today, despite the massive downfall in the value of cryptocurrencies, bitcoins still stand at $35,000, or roughly Rs 25 Lakhs. 

For someone who invested just $50 in bitcoin in 2013, and held onto it for all these years, they made over 700 times of their original investment.

Chile is not exactly a rich country. And yet, Davinci lives life king-size, all thanks to his investments in Crypto. 

Just take a look at his Instagram account, and you’ll often see in places like Monte Carlo in Monaco, and Dubai, places that are known to attract the nouveau rich.

In a country like Chile, which has no major automotive companies of its own, and which largely depends on petroleum-based cars, Davinci drives around in a blinged-out Tesla Model X. 

Heck, he can often be seen wearing some really blinged up clothes. He even wears some super expensive sneakers from Christian Louboutin.

Davinci describes himself in his Twitter bio as a 'Family Man, Programmer, YouTuber, and early Bitcoin adopter'.

As for the recent slump that has befallen major Cryptocurrencies, Davinci says that there is nothing to worry about if you’ve invested for the long haul. He took to Twitter recently, saying:

Do the impossible buy and hold #Bitcoin for long term like retirement your risk is the same as an asteroid hitting the planet, thus it’s a good bet.
