Soon after the release of The Family Man 2's trailer a few days back, the web series landed in trouble as it ended up upsetting a certain section of people who felt that the show is trying to portray Tamilians in a negative light. Rajya Sabha MP Vaiyapuri Gopalsamy, better known as Vaiko, sent a written complaint to Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javadekar and sought a ban on it. 

An excerpt of his letter read, “These descriptions have hurt the sentiments of Tamil people and Tamil culture and offensive against the Tamil community. The people of Tamil Nadu are raising serious objections over such act and are protesting against the Serial.”

Now, Manoj Bajpayee who plays the lead in the show has shared the statement released by Raj and DK that says that the assumptions have been made based on just a few shots in the trailer and they have utmost love and respect towards Tamil people. In their statement, the directors of The Family Man 2, Raj and DK, said, "Some assumptions and impressions have been made based on just a couple of shots in the trailer. Many of our lead cast members and key members of the creative & writing team are Tamilians. We are very cognizant of the sentiments of the Tamil people and Tamil culture and have nothing but the utmost love and respect towards our Tamil people. We have put in years of hard work into this show, and we have taken great pains to bring to our audiences a sensitive, balanced and riveting story - much like we did in Season 1 of the show. We request everyone to wait and watch the show when it releases. We know you'll appreciate it once you watch it."

People came in support of the show and targeted the politicians for creating trouble for the team. They want the show to be released and a certain Tamilian Twitter users also went on to say that she is eagerly waiting for the show.

The web series is set to release on Prime Video on June 4. Raj & DK have directed the second season with Suparn S Varma.
