Imagine you're out there diving in the sea, observing all the colorful fish and corals, and suddenly a 14 meter-long, 30,000-kilogram weighing whale thinks you're dinner?

Scary, right?
Well, your wildest nightmare was someone's reality just recently.
In a bizarre incident that shook our faith in childhood movies like the Free Willy series, a diver was swallowed whole by a humpback whale inย Cape Cod, Massachusetts, United States.

Michael Packard, a 56-year-old lobster diver almost thought he was toast after a humpback whale swallowed him while he was diving.ย ย
However, luckily for Packard, he lived to tell the tale after the large mammal spat him back out in the sea after a period of what, 40 seconds. (Yikes!!)

Sharing his story on a Facebook page called Provincetown Community Space, Packard, officially one of the luckiest men on Earth, said, โHi everyone, I just want to clarify what happened to me today. I was lobster diving and a humpback whale tried to eat me. I was in his closed mouth for about 30 to 40 seconds before he rose to the surface and spit me out. I am very bruised up but have no broken bones. I want to thank the Provincetown rescue squad for their caring and help,โ
Packard had been admitted to the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis for the injuries he sustained in the aftermath of the incident. Describing the horrible encounter after he was released from the hospital, he said,
โAll of a sudden, I felt this huge shove, and the next thing I knew it was completely black,โ
โI could sense I was moving, and I could feel the whale squeezing with the muscles in his mouth.โ
โI was completely inside; it was completely black. I thought to myself, โthereโs no way Iโm getting out of here. Iโm done, Iโm dead.โ All I could think of was my boys โ theyโre 12 and 15 years old.โ he told Cape Cod Times.ย
