Richa Chadha Calls Out Bollywood’s Hypocrisy With Newcomers & We Wish More Actors Spoke Up

Richa Chadha has time and again proven that talent will take you far, not just the connections you have in the industry. She has given us many powerful performances in the past and is known for her outspoken nature. She is somebody who believes in sharing her honest opinions without fearing about the consequences or the trolling that comes her way on her tweets or Instagram stories.

This time around, Richa has exposed the dark side of Bollywood and we couldn’t agree more. She even called out the hypocrisy of some people's take on nepotism and penned a note on her Instagram story. She also took a potshot at people who misguide the actors who are starting their careers in the industry filled with hypocrisy.

In her note, she said, “'Bollywood’, an imaginary address between Bandra and Goregaon. Here when people need you to do something that’s detrimental to you/your health/your career, they’ll tell you how good it is for you and be confident that you’ll believe them. I used to believe them when I was naive.”

She went on to add, “Some press peeps will write long pieces about how nepotism ruins the industry while creepily following every pre-pubescent with a famous last name, and dissing any self-made professional in their mediocre writing, on the pretext of ‘freedom of expression’.”

She concluded, “Must reform faster, if it has to survive the onslaught of OTT, VR and everything in the future. Plz, smell the coffee.”

We completely agree with her opinions here as Bollywood often doesn't recognise talented newcomers whereas big names are always put up on a pedestal. Here's hoping more insiders speak the truth about the hypocrisy of Bollywood.
