Kangana Ranaut and Shahid Kapoor worked together for the first time in Vishal Bhardwaj’s 2017 period drama Rangoon.
The movie also starred Saif Ali Khan in a prominent role.
In the film, Shahid and Kangana shared a lot of steamy scenes that had made headlines around the film’s release. So much so, that during the promotions of the film, Kangana was asked about her experience of kissing Shahid in the film and she had termed it as “disgusting”.

She had stated, “Shahid's moustache was horrible and it (kissing) would be disgusting. Then he would keep telling me that he has a runny nose which helps it to stick.”
She had also described sharing a cottage with him as a “nightmare”.
Speaking to Mid-Day Kangana said, ”We were shooting in a remote location where a little makeshift cottage was erected. Shahid and I were sharing the cottage with our respective teams. Every morning, I would wake up to this mad hip-hop music. And he would exercise listening to crazy trance and techno songs blasting from the speakers. I was fed up and wanted to shift out. Sharing the cottage with Shahid was a nightmare.”

Kangana’s comment didn’t go down well with Shahid who had denied saying anything to her about the “runny nose”. He told DNA, “I have to tell you that Kangana makes up things in her head. She has a vivid imagination. I don’t remember telling her all this at all.”

After a few rounds of “He Said-She Said”, Shahid decided to put an end to his feud with Kangana saying, “I would not like to play a table tennis match on this whole episode by answering to each of her comments. I just wish to put an end to this match. Kangana should move ahead with all her co-stars in an amicable manner and work with a team spirit.”
However, a couple of years later, Shahid was asked about the worst part of kissing Kangana in keechad (mud). He replied on Neha Dhupia’s chat show, “That’s a really random question! Really random memories… Kuch yaad hi nahi aa raha hai. Blank ho gaya hoon main, yaar. If it was in the keechad, it was keechad-y.”
