'Simmba' enjoyed massive success and a magical run at the box office. Rohit Shetty knows exactly what to sell to his action fans and he does it quite well. The classic recipe which he began with Singham, played extremely well by Ajay Devgn, was carried forward as a sort of legacy by none other than Ranveer Singh himself, who like always, nailed the role of a cop in this one.View this post on Instagram

The movie crossed the 100-crore mark within a few days of its release and this gigantic success inspired director Rohit Shetty do so something thoughtful. At the recently concluded festival 'Umang Awards', Rohit Shetty pledged and donated 51 lakhs from the profit made by his movie. He presented the cheque with actors Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar to the commissioner of Police.
'Simmba' follows the story of a Marathi cop Sanghram Bhalerao who falls in the claws of corruption but eventually turns his good cop side on after an epiphany. Rohit is now all set to direct another action drama called 'Sooryavanshi' with none other than Khiladi Kumar himself, who made a cameo in 'Simmba' as well. Recently, the makers of Vicky Kaushal starrer 'Uri' pledged 1 crore towards the fund for Army widows on Army Day as well. It is good to see when Bollywood extends help and gives back to the country in a generous way.
