On Thursday, when Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings came to play at Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium, it wasn't just another match of IPL 2019. It was a match that saw a fan-idol duo turn into rivals, in order to inch closer to winning the IPL trophy. We're talking about Riyan Parag, who made a promising debut with Rajasthan Royals; and MS Dhoni, who is leading CSK from the forefront.

This 17-year-old cricketer hails from Assam and was all of six, when he first met and clicked a picture with his idol MS Dhoni. In fact, when MS Dhoni made his international debut in 2004, Riyan was 3. Fast forward to the present and Riyan not only made his IPL debut but also played against MS Dhoni.

In fact, on Thursday Riyan got out scoring 16 runs after he was caught behind by Dhoni. Ever since the two met, this picture of their 'then and now' started circulating on social media and is now making people go crazy.

Riyan is a right-handed batsman and leg spinner, who was also a part of the Indian team that won the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2018. He also featured in two tests for the Indian U-19 team in England and holds the record of the second fastest 50 in U-19 after Virat Kohli.
