Exclusive: 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' Finally Gets A Sequel But Akshay Kumar May Not Be A Part Of It

It's raining sequels in Bollywood right now. It can also be said that sequels have now become a sure shot formula to score success at the box office. The latest one to join the league is Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan starrer 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa'.

Earlier, there were reports about the sequel but now we have a confirmation about the same. Yes, you heard that right. The horror-comedy superhit will have a part two and we cannot help but hope for more twists and turns.

T-Series honcho Bhushan Kumar will be producing the film and interestingly, he has got the first narration from director Farhad Samji.

A source close to the development told MensXP, “Farhad Samji is both writing and directing the film. He has given the first narration to Bhushan Kumar and he has liked the idea. Currently, Farhad is working on the script and is also looking for a fresh cast this time. The title has always been registered and it's called 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2'.”

Is Akshay a part of the sequel? Well, then the answer is no. Our source also told us, “Akshay is, for sure, not a part of 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2'. The makers will look for a new cast altogether. Right now, the latest development is this and Bhushan Kumar is quite interested in the idea of this sequel.” The original film was an official remake of the Malayalam hit film 'Manichitrathazhu'' starring Mohanlal and Shobana.

Director Farhad is presently working on 'Housefull 4' and it features Akshay Kumar.

It will be interesting to see who will step into the shoes of Akshay Kumar. Any guesses? Do let us know in the comments below.

Apart from 'Bhool Bhulaiya 2', the producer is already remaking BR Chopra's 1978 drama 'Pati Patni Aur Woh' starring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday and Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 1975 comedy 'Chupke Chupke', in which Rajkummar Rao will reprise Dharmendra's role.

Stay tuned in for more such Bollywood updates.
