Oh, it has been a tough couple of days for Pakistan cricket, especially when it comes to their athletes addressing their fans or expressing their emotions publicly.
Take former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi, for instance. The all-rounder who, after making his international debut way back in 1996, had spent the majority of his career amidst controversy and comments that did not fail to raise eyebrows.
This is reality of secularism in Pakistan, TVs are broken for showing Hindu rituals & people applaud it pic.twitter.com/PXKcs5wcyf

While his performance with the white ball certainly made him one of the better leg-spinners in limited overs cricket, it was his ballistic âall-inâ batting that eventually went on to diminish his value globally.
However, Afridi was well aware of this predicament and after retiring from international cricket in 2016, he became a lot more laid back in his approach towards talking about the game and himself.
While he continues to play franchise cricket, and is a part of the Multan Sultans in the ongoing season of Pakistan Super League, Afridi decided to address his fans during a press conference and used his reputation as the impatient batsman to troll himself:
How can you not love this guy? ï¸ #PSLV2020 pic.twitter.com/UqDZGG8E9N

âMain Zyada time nahi lena chahunga aapka, apni batting ki tarah,â he said, which translates into âI wonât be taking much of your time like I did when I batted.â
The self-trolling came just a couple of days after wicket keeper-batsman, Umar Akmal made his life difficult by posting a tweet without proof-reading it.
The 29-year-old cricketer took to Twitter and posted a picture along with former cricketer Abdul Razzaq and captioned it as, "Mother from another brother''.

In a tweet that has been deleted now, Akmal called former Pakistani all-rounder Abdul Razzak a âmother from another brotherâ, which converted into some really good meme material almost instantly.

The only difference between what Afridi and Akmal said was that Afridi knew that he was making fun of himself and gave everyone the open right to troll him for his comments, for Umar Akmal, not so much.
