People Were Surprised To See Flamingos In Mumbai & Thought They Were In A Sanctuary Amid Lockdown

Nature has mysterious ways to heal itself. In fact, the current situation has proved to us that nature can flourish well without any human intervention. Of late, owing to the current nationwide lockdown, there have been several instances of animals and birds reclaiming the land and the sea while we are confined to our houses.

Hereâs another such heart-warming instance from Mumbai that is doing the rounds on the internet. Recently, hundreds and thousands of pink flamingos flooded the water body near Navi Mumbai and put up quite a show for the residents of Seawoods Complex in Nerul. Undoubtedly, they were a treat to the eyes!

Mysterious ways of Nature?

Mumbai backwaters, as seen from Seawoods Complex in Nerul.
Every year 100s of pink flamingos migrate to this spot.
But this year, numbers are truly spectacular.
Itâs mystery, sitting 1000s of miles away, how did flamingos come to know about the change? pic.twitter.com/SZiVSH49j0

The video shows how these pink feathered creatures have migrated to this lake in huge numbers due to a decrease in human activity. People on social media were ecstatic about these pink flamingos flocking together in Mumbai. Here, check out some of the reactions:

So itâs quite obvious now that nature doesnât need human beings to thrive rather itâs vice versa. The least we could do is to not pollute it in any way. These changes in the outside world right now are the biggest lessons for mankind. The city of Mumbai actually looks like a sanctuary!
