A major part of making a mainstream film in Bollywood is booking a release date which promises a kickstart in terms of the box office revenue collection. For example, Shah Rukh Khan prefers a release around Diwali, Salman Khan books Eid for his films, and this has now become common knowledge. However, sometimes major films also clash with one another, it's not likely that each clash ends with two winners, sometimes some films don't end up doing well with heavy competition. Here are the major clashes of films in the last couple of years, and the film that took the throne amongst the two.

With the backing of top actors and stars, Rustom and Mohenjo Daro were heavily dependent upon Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan. Rustom not only took a better opening, but the gap between the film and Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro widened with each passing day. It started with a difference of around 60%, Rustom ran 2-3 times the collections of Mohenjo Daro.
