The second season of Mirzapur opens a few days after the events of Season 1 and this time it’s all about revenge. If you are wondering that you might get confused about who’s after whom, the makers have given recap of the previous season and if you have followed the plot, you will get a fair idea of what’s going to happen next.

The second season takes time to gain momentum as the first episode won’t give you an instant adrenaline rush but it will soon start to reveal the reason why should invest your time in season two. The world of Mirzapur in season 2 is bloodier than season 1. This time, the characters move beyond just using violence as they are keen on using their brains to seek revenge. Interestingly, you will get to witness a change in relationship dynamics in season 2. There is a sense of ease in Akhandanand Tripathi aka Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi) and his son, Munna (Divyendu Sharma).

Now that Bablu (Vikrant Massey) is no more, Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal), his sister Dimpy (Harshita Gaur), and Golu (Shweta Tripathi) have come together to seek revenge from the Tripathis. The women characters are stronger than before and unlike in the first season, they are not limited to being the pretty girlfriends or just mere love interests. Then, there is Beena (Rasika Dugal) who’s trying every way to survive and is waiting for her time so that she can take her revenge in time.

Sharad Shukla (Anjum Sharma) is also back, but this time he is the one who is now taking care of Jaunpur. The new players in the race are Sharad’s associate Tyagi (Vijay Verma) and Robin (Priyanshu Painyuli) and Isha Talwar.

Coming to the performances, we loved everyone's emotional trajectory throughout the course of the season. The best relationship dynamics is that of Ali and Shweta who have faced their trauma silently and it’s surely powerful. Vijay and Priyanshu are very impressive too, and are here to make you fall in love with them.

Rasika is feisty as ever and will leave you wanting to see more of her. She is someone to look out to for as she will bring in a change in how the Tripathi clan sees power.

Pankaj Tripathi is once again the star of the show and this time, you will also see more of Divyendu. The women in the show are stronger than before and are going to change in how you see them in the arena of power and politics. The raw dialogues continue to be powerful as ever while there is an improvement in cinematography. From violence to ***, there’s a lot that will keep you hooked, however we won’t compare it with season one.
