All We Know About Abetment To Suicide Case Against Arnab & How People Reacted To His Arrest

Time and again, Arnab Goswami has been in the news for the wrong reasons and his way of reporting has always been questioned. The Alibaug Police, on Wednesday morning, detained Republic Television editor Arnab from his Mumbai house in connection with the death of interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik in 2018.

What Happened In 2018?

In May 2018, almost a year after Republic TV was launched, a 53-year-old interior designer, Anvay Naik, and his mother had died by suicide. Naik was the managing director of Concorde Designs Pvt. Ltd, a company that provided services to Republic TV. In his suicide note, Naik alleged he was being forced to take this step because he was not paid his due that was around Rs 5 crores.

The case was shut down by Raigad Police last year. However, in May, Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh re-opened the case on a complaint by Naik’s daughter, Adnya.

Current Scenario

Maharashtra Government and Arnab Goswami are leaving no stone unturned to pin each other down and are at loggerheads. From the Palghar incident to the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, Arnab has been accused of using these cases for TRP. This has resulted in a massive divide in people's opinions too.
