Apple decided to not include a charger with any of the new iPhones this year, which, it says is a huge step towards reducing impact and promoting environmental stewardship. The company even decided to remove the charger from the older iPhones that were on sale.

This move didn't really sit well with a lot of consumers. Other manufacturers took note of it and started mocking it for doing it. Xiaomi was one of the first ones to come out and announce how it was reducing plastic packaging instead of removing the charger.

Well now, Xiaomi has confirmed that its Mi 11 series of smartphones will not ship with a charger in the box. Yeah, we don't know what happened but it's quite the turn of events. The same was confirmed by Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun and he cited environmental concerns for the same.

He said people have many chargers which create an environmental burden, and therefore the company was canceling the charger for the Mi 11. Here, check it out -

We're not here to mock Xiaomi and point out how they went back on their word after mocking Apple. In fact, even Samsung is expected to do the same and they were also one of the first ones to mock Apple by releasing a full-fledged ad that has now been deleted.

That being said, we're very curious to see what Apple pulls out next time and create a trend out of it. Let's be honest here and accept the fact that most people are just following what Apple is doing, so we can't wait to see the next trend.
