The folks over at CD Projekt Red have already been through a lot since the launch of Cyberpunk 2077. They now have to work on fixing the game's issues, making new content for the game, and support a growing community of modders. Now, it looks like they also have to fix another issue.

According to a new report, it looks like hackers can potentially take control of your PC via the game's mods. A Reddit post detailing this issue was spotted by Forbes and it noted how hackers can add malicious code in mods. And once these infected mods are installed by the users, the hackers can potentially exploit and take control of their PCs. The same works with crafted saved files too.

Additionally, it looks like this flaw can also have some damaging effects on the PlayStation.

As of now, sadly there's no fix for this fatal flaw. But as a workaround, users can update the Cyber Engine Tweaks after installing it manually. That's the only way to stay safe from these exploits if you want to use the mods. Alternatively, you can also choose to hold off using mods from unverified sources and go with only the ones from trusted devs.

Mods are currently the only way people can have some fun after finishing the main story and the side gigs. CD Projekt Red is currently working on fixing the game, so we doubt if there'll be any new content for a while now. That being said, we really hope they manage to fix this issue by rolling out a new patch.
