Carl Pei’s Nothing Teases TWS Earbuds Design And It Certainly Looks Different From Everything Else

Carl Pei’s new ‘Nothing’ company has unveiled its first product i.e. the ‘Concept 1’ that is expected to launch later this summer. The new TWS earbuds' design was shown off in a render that highlights the key design aspects of the upcoming product. The earbuds have been designed by Tom Howard, the company’s design head who is also the vice head of design at ‘Teenage Engineering’.

What’s confusing about the reveal is that it is not an actual product at the moment and isn’t something that Nothing will launch anytime soon. “The same designs principles will be followed and there will be similarities to Concept 1, the end product will look different,” according to a statement given to The Verge

Concept 1 however does look different from every other TWS that has launched in the recent past. Its marquee design feat being the transparent design for the casing of the TWS earbud that gives it a very raw look. The company says its design philosophy will focus on three aspects i.e. weightlessness, effortlessness, and timelessness. While the concept and the design inspiration sure does sound interesting, it would be more convincing if the company had an actual product that represents its claims. For now, we’ve only got a render to stare at which will serve as inspiration for the upcoming TWS earbuds design but will look different from the concept. Yeah, even we are wondering why the company chose to tease their design philosophy when they have nothing to show for it at the moment.

However, it seems Nothing is quite optimistic of their product as they said, “These are the principles that have guided our product design over the past several months. We look forward to show you how this comes to life through our first products this summer. That’s when the fun starts.”
