Body shaming has largely been perceived as something only those people who are overweight have to face but contrarily, even those who are skinny also have to face the issue. Needless to say, body shaming, be it of any kind is a toxic trait that should be condemned. Recently, Ananya Panday opened up about the issues she's had to face for being skinny.
In a recent interaction with Bollywood Bubble, Ananya opened up on being slim-shamed by people around her and how she was mentally affected by their mean comments. "People used to say I look like a boy, flat screen. At that time it did hurt because those are the years where you are forming your self-confidence. You are learning to love yourself and someone else is pulling you down then you really start doubting yourself," Ananya Panday shared.

She added, "At that time, it did hurt because those are the times when you are forming your self-confidence and you are learning to love yourself. And then, when you feel like someone else is pulling you down, you start doubting yourself, the way you look, and everything. But I feel like now, slowly, I am reaching a point where I am just focussing on accepting myself."
She further added, "If that is sorted and that is my foundation then nothing can hurt me since I am at peace with myself and I love myself. I am not saying it has happened. It is an ongoing process but I feel this realization is more important than what anyone else says."

Last year, she was in the headlines when she shared her version of struggle while talking about nepotism in Bollywood. She had said that even though her father Chunky Panday was an actor he was never in a Dharma film or went to Koffee With Karan. She was mercilessly trolled for the statement.
On the work front, Ananya will be seen in Shakun Batra's next alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi and Deepika Padukone. She also has Liger, opposite Telugu star Vijay Deverakonda.
