The Apple Watch has been found to be saving lives in many situations where users have cited its many features as the reason. Whether it is detecting potential heart diseases or helping hikers who fell off the cliff, the Apple Watch has been able to save their lives in many instances. However, in a new incident and man’s life was saved after he fell through the ice while ice skating and was saved at the last moment, thanks to his Apple Watch.

“I’m really grateful for them. So, thank those folks. I thank them,” Rogers said. “(He) kept his wits about him. He remained calm and he did what he had to do to ensure his survival,” Chief George Kramlinger of the Somersworth Fire Department said. “It’s just really a dangerous situation getting on the ice and like I said, at this point, no ice is safe,” Kramlinger said.
The Apple Watch has a feature called Emergency SOS which can automatically call local emergency services whenever a user asks Siri. The watch can also call emergency services automatically if it detects the user has taken a sudden fall. These features are also available on the iPhone which can be turned on from the settings menu. Other important apps like ECG and Blood Oxygen tracking have also made it possible for users to detect heart or respiratory diseases.
