Jobless Oxford Law Graduate Sues Parents To Get Lifelong Financial Support From Them

A law degree is supposedly one of the most respected professions across the globe in terms of the respect it carries, sometimes the fear it instils and even the kind of money it can allow a lawyer to make. Also not to forget the ability to use logical reasoning and derivative arguments to get one through any discussion or debate in life as well, is an added bonus of a lawyer’s talent. Faiz Siddiqui, a 41-year-old law graduate from the prestigious Oxford University also probably had some tall hopes when he got his degree. Except, what he eventually did will even make Marshall Erikson think twice before shouting ‘lawyered’ to anyone around him. The 41-year-old lawyer who is currently living in London and has been jobless, has sued his Dubai-based parents for not providing him financial aids for life.

Uptil now, Faiz’s parents had left him a gorgeous apartment near Hyde Park which is around a whopping £1 million, and have been supporting him financially as well. Post a family feud, the parents apparently pulled the plug on the money flow and that obviously didn’t go down with this lawyer lad, who decided to make the best use of his degree and sued the two people who actually paid for it in the first place. In his defence, Faiz has claimed that he is a vulnerable grown-up child who deserves financial aid and not providing that is a violation of human rights for him. The parents had been providing him with an allowance of 400 pounds per week , which they now want to call off for their own reasons. Faiz was employed till 2011 and in 2018, he had even filed a lawsuit against his own University for ‘bad teaching’ that cost him his legal career.

According to a Daily Mail report, Faiz had claimed 'boring' tuition and staff being on extended leaves to be a reason why he only received a 2:1 instead of the first-class degree he had intended to receive. I can only pretend to understand what Mr. Siddiqui  is enduring and why, but well, I guess that is what we call ‘first world problems’.  Here we are, fighting with our parents to get the AC serviced before Summers arrive, and then there are people who sue their parents with perhaps no fear of flying chappals.
