Recently, the news of the remake of South Indian blockbuster Anniyan that released in the year 2005 surfaced on the internet. Fans were excited about the news and were wondering about the star-cast and storyline of the film.

Stellar Starcast

According to TOI, Ranveer Singh will play the lead role that was played by Vikram in the original film. Kiara Advani will play the lead female in the film. However, both will start shooting for the film only after completing their current projects.

The Most Telecast Film On Hindi TV 

The Hindi version of Anniyan was titled Aparichit, which was one of the most telecast films on Hindi TV channels. The blockbuster film was the collaboration of director Shankar and actor Vikram for the first time and became one of the highest-grossing films across South India.

Won Many Awards

The original film won eight Filmfare Awards and Six State Film Awards. Not only this, but the film also won a National Award in Special Effects Category.

Original Film Had Harris Jayraj’s Songs 

Anniyan was the first film of Shankar that didn’t have AR Rahman's music but the film had Harris Jayaraj’s songs which became instant chartbusters.

The Plot Of The Film

The film is an action and psychological thriller about a man who suffers from multiple personality disorder and works as a lawyer by day and a vigilante at night. He is also inspired by the Garuda Purana and uses it as his tools to expose various antisocial elements.
