Apple may have increased the available storage tiers for the iPhones over the years but users face the impending challenge of managing storage on their smartphones. People tend to run out of storage as the iPhone is capable of taking high-res photos, live pictures, 4k videos and not to forget massive application file size/updates. These features can even completely fill up a 128 GB iPhone very easily.

Apple announced a few cool features on the upcoming iOS 11 and we are probably most relieved for the new storage saving feature. The new feature enables users to get a clearer picture of how their storage is being used by the iPhone and help in managing it more effectively. 

Ryan Jones pointed in a tweet that iOS 11 has a revamped storage section where it exactly tells you what is utilising the most amount of storage on your phone. Users can quickly identify and delete large attachments from the Messages app and also delete conversations that are older than a year. Currently, users have to delete individual conversations in order to conserve storage, however, iOS 11 has made our lives much easier.

MacRumors also pointed out that iOS 11 will also give recommendations for clearing up space.
