Like most cricketers, Indian batting star, Rohit Sharma too has a taste for zany sneakers. Sometimes seen flaunting some quirky pairs on his Instagram feed, Rohit has time and again proved that he is no less than a sneakerhead. He is a role model on the field but a style icon off the field, to say the least.

The reason why we are praising Rohit Sharma is that the talismanic skipper did something unique, during the recent IPL 2021 tournament. While the team's top priority is to focus on the competition, Rohit left no stone unturned in raising awareness about the environmental issues. What was commendable here was the way he did it. Yes, Rohit was seen wearing a pair of customised sneakers that were designed to spread a message about conserving the endangered species and saving the ocean.

Rohit used his spikes as a reason to share the important message. The pair is customised by Adidas and the cricket shoes spoke about the plastic-free ocean.  These quirky shoes attracted all the attention to his sneakers and fans couldn't stop raving about the pair on Twitter.

In fact, Rohit took to Twitter, saying that this move was more than just a game for him. He wrote "The other cause that’s extremely close to my heart. This one hits hard! This is a hundred percent in our control to reverse. I take my cause with me while I go out and do what I love!

He also mentioned in the next tweet that he would continue to have a conversation about it and in the end, said 'let's get our oceans healthy again'

Earlier, he also took to Instagram and posted about another pair that he wore a couple of days ago, which spoke about the conservation of the great One-Horned Rhinoceros or the Indian Rhino, as we call it.

He wrote "Yesterday when I walked on to the field it was more than just a game for me. Playing cricket is my dream and help make this world a better place is a cause we all need to work towards and It was special for me to take a cause so close to my heart with me on the field while I do what I love. Every step matters."
