In view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic throughout the country resulting in an unprecedented loss of human lives, mainly on account of the shortage of oxygen, everyone is clearly beyond concerned.
As a motivated community of founders who are concerned and wanted to do something for the nation, “Mission Oxygen” via Ketto, came to life this month.
It is a crowdsourcing fundraiser platform, whose initial goal was to raise about Rs 2.5 Cr to source 500 Oxygen Concentrators (OCs) from China and elsewhere that could be donated quickly to needy hospitals and nursing centres and help save many lives in India.

Since last Friday night, however, the group has received an overwhelming global response and has raised almost Rs 9.5 Crores (about 4 times from its initial goal).
This money was raised with the support of 10,000 individual donors who clearly want to do something to help India come out of this massive crisis.
As the fundraiser progressed, the group sprung into action to secure the supply and carry out quality due diligence of vendors.
In the process, they managed to procure a supply of 1,300 OCs, and have also worked round the clock to successfully arrange logistics working together with partners like Spicejet, DHL, Flexiport and Delhivery.

The first shipment of ~500 will hopefully start arriving by this week and the remaining 800 will arrive by next week.
The group has also donated an Oxygen Generation plant which will be setup on Deen Dayal Upadhaya Hospital.
It comes as no surprise that the group has also received a letter of appreciation from the Government of India for its efforts during this crisis

This will be the first Oxygen Generation plant which will be set up by the Delhi Government during this time.
In parallel, now the group has been able to also aggregate demand and has a team of volunteers fully dedicated to allocating these OCs to the needy hospitals and nursing homes.
Having said the above, the work right now is far from over, as the actual requirement for the Oxygen Concentrators is going to only increase as there is a dire need across India. And this wave will only shift from one town to another.

As per an estimate, the total requirement for Oxygen Concentrators pan India could be more than 150,000.
Given this dire need across the country, and having worked out all aspects, the group has the confidence to be able to further scale this effort and really support the country.
You can do your bit in helping the platform as well, as it will go a long way in ensuring the nation is able to tide over this crisis and help the healthcare infrastructure to save precious lives.
