This Funny Love Story Of An IAS Officer Makes Us Believe 'Padh Ke Bhi Pyaar Kar Sakte Hai'

In a world where we catch up on plenty of rom-com movies on our TV screens on a regular basis, there are a few times we actually come across a sweet, funny real-life story of a girl and a boy actually ending up together.Β

One such story is that of Chandi Chandran, an IAS officer, who eventually ended up marrying her boyfriend, Arun Sudarsan.Β

The story goes back to 2016 when Chandran was one of the many aspirants who after appearing for the grueling Civil Service examinations was waiting for her results.Β

Such was the stress for the results, that she would try to go out for walks with Arun (back when they were dating) to ease off some tension.Β

However, a funny thing happened and one day before the exam results when she had been on a usual walk with Arun while sharing an umbrella in the rain, a newspaper photographer took the couple's picture as part of a piece on rain in the city.Β

Coincidently, the picture of them sharing an umbrella came next to the list of the UPSC toppers, and unfortunately for Chandran, she couldn't clear the exam.Β

Chandran, who cleared the exams in 2017 and is now posted as sub-divisional magistrate of Kanchanpur, North Tripura, explained the incident using a Twitter thread.

May 10, 2016.Results of Civil Service Exam 2015 was expected to be out & I was roaming with @mrarunsudarsan to not stress over it. I didn't make it. Next day newspapers were filled with pics of toppers & @timesofindia published this pic of us! Arun called ToI & complained (1/3) pic.twitter.com/mYaemtmm5t

as we weren't married then .I took it as a sign that my photo was destined to be there in the paper filled with UPSC toppers and that I can happily walk towards any destination with someone holding an umbrella and looking out for me with love unbound when I take each step.(2/3)
