The recently appointed chair of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Ramiz Raja is having an extremely difficult time getting work done due to the security threats in his country and the lack of willingness of international teams to risk the lives of their players by sending them to Pakistan.
However, in a new development, the former cricketer and commentator, Raja expressed his worries about how India controls the fate of the PCB and the future of cricket in Pakistan. He even goes on to speculate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi can pull the plug on Pakistani cricket in a moment if he wants to.

During a Senate Standing Committee meeting, Raja addressed a room full of officials, while trying to shed light on the revenue sources that run the PCB and connected it to the “Indian Business Houses”.
“PCB is funded 50% by the ICC that is funded 90% by the BCCI or in a way, the Indian business houses are running Pakistan cricket. If tomorrow Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi feels that we won’t provide any funding to Pakistan, then this cricket board can collapse,” he said.
After New Zealand and England pulled out from their respective series on Pakistani soil last month, Raja confessed that the cricketing operations in the country are completely dependent on the funding they receive from the ICC.
He appealed to Karachi’s business community at the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Tuesday with the hopes of reviving cricketing success in the nation once again. “Our cricket is relying on ICC’s funding right now and when I see the books, I get very scared because the contribution of local entrepreneurs is minimal,” the PCB chief had said.
Disappointed with England, pulling out of their commitment & failing a member of their Cricket fraternity when it needed it most. Survive we will inshallah. A wake up call for Pak team to become the best team in the world for teams to line up to play them without making excuses.

In September, Raja had called out the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Indian Premier League for “changing the DNA” of Australian cricketers, claiming that it was only because of the kind of money that IPL makes that foreign players feel no issues in visiting the country, even if there were security concerns looming in the background.
“Australians have changed their DNA because of money, they play against India happily and without aggressive approach. International cricketers have pressure as now they want to save their IPL contracts where they receive a lot of money plus add-ons,” Raja was quoted as saying to ARY News.
