Dear Trolls Who Think Katrina Had ‘Better Options’ Than Vicky…It Was Love Not A Swayamvar

The difference between a writer such as myself and a troll is that, not only do I get paid for giving my two cents but that I also do so after my due diligence and research.

Most trolls are in the business of spitting out the first thought that comes to their mind and while doing so, end up feeding into age-old stereotypes like the one that looked down upon women who would choose a less successful partner than themselves.

A point that has recently been raised by a couple of trolls who thought that actress Katrina Kaif could’ve done much better than Vicky Kaushal, who in their words, is much 'less successful' than herself. A sentiment that reflected, not genuine care, but a typical patriarchal mindset.

You see, actress Katrina Kaif recently tied the knot with Uri actor Vicky Kaushal in a rather secretive ceremony in Rajasthan, and since then, the news of their marriage hijacked their marriage.

While most people are busy swooning over their dreamy wedding pictures, others have more pressing matters at hand - like dissing Katrina for not evaluating her options in men correctly as she chose an actor who was less successful

Of course, to Katrina, this was a wedding and not a freaking swayamvar, but I guess the concept of common sense is beyond such trolls who will never have a problem with a man marrying a woman less successful than him, but are furious over a woman possibly superseding a man in her marriage.

However, before Katrina Kaif could even comment on this barrage of sexist remarks, several netizens came to the couple’s defence and gave befitting replies to trolls with such orthodox and dated mindsets.

who gives af if he’s “less successful”. she’s not marrying him for money, she has enough of it. she’s marrying for companionship. https://t.co/DDMlSTQXLF

People calling Vicky Kaushal less successful compare to his wife Katrina. So according to them, Katrina had better "options". But is Anyone have any problem with Rajkumar Rao, Varun Dhawan, Shahid Kapoor being more popular than their wives? NO. Typical Patriarchal mindset.

Popular doesn’t mean talented? Sorry but Vicky is an extremely successful actor and bonus he is completely talented. But above all that he loves Kat.. they are so happy?? Marriage is not about status!!

Why can’t a girl be more successful and on top of that Vicky started much later than Katrina he is still new in the industry & still has time & room to grow. But what profession has to do with love. They love each other isn’t that enough?

Katrina was a newcomer when she dated Salman but no one had problem with that . Vicky is a national award winner giving back to back succesful movies with powerful performances. He established himself within a short span of time.
