This is the right time for a film like 'Kesari' to ride the patriotic wave that's risen in the country, as many who've misplaced their sense of belonging right now can bring it back with this insanely impactful movie. The Akshay Kumar starrer brewed a solid total of almost 100-crore in the first week of its release and if you haven't watched it yet, it's time to get your a*s to the nearest cinema. The film was released on the occasion of Holi, this year and currently it stands at 87 crore.

'Kesari' is definitely and by far the biggest opener of 2019 and of course the second biggest show-stopper for Akshay Kumar, after 'Gold'. Fortunately, this also makes Akshay Kumar's ninth hit in a row after 'Gold' (102.10 crore), 'PadMan' (78.22 crore), 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' (132.07 crore), 'Jolly LLB 2' (117 crore), 'Rustom' (127.49 crore), 'Housefull 3' (109.14 crore), 'Airlift' (128.1 crore), and 'Singh Is Bliing' (89.95 crore). All we can really say is Kudos Akshay Kumar, you did good!
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also Tweeted his two bits on the success of the film.
#Kesari shows an upward trend on Day 3 [Sat]... Metros pick up, mass circuits good... Big Day 4 [Sun] on the cards... Eyes â¹ 80 cr [+/-] *extended* weekend... Thu 21.06 cr, Fri 16.70 cr, Sat 18.75 cr. Total: â¹ 56.51 cr. India biz.— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) 24 March 2019
The film was a mixed-bag of reviews. While it created an impact with most of the people, some of them thought it was too mainstream for a patriotic film. Rotten Tomatoes had about 11 reviews which were not very tasteful for the film. But other than that, the film did remarkably well, all over.
