Whether you look at the latest flagship phones by Apple, Samsung, Huawei or even Xiaomi, there is one thing common amongst these devices - wireless charging. OnePlus has been avoiding this feature up until now but it looks like the company may just bring that feature for the OnePlus 8 Pro variant.

A tweet by tipster Max J. Suggests that the upcoming âProâ variant of the OnePlus 8 may come with the new feature. While the tweet didnât really clearly say that the smartphone will come with the feature, it does drop a huge hint that point towards the same. He tweeted a second image of a smartphone being charged by a wireless charging pad that looks somewhat similar to a OnePlus smartphone. Of course, he clears the air in a second tweet by saying that the image is just a concept image for illustration purposes. There have been previous rumours that suggested OnePlus would bring wireless charging to one of the models but nothing concrete has confirmed the information yet.

If the feature does make its way to a OnePlus smartphone this year, it would truly be the complete flagship smartphone OnePlus has been striving for. OnePlus has avoided wireless charging as it prefers the faster wired charging that comes in the form of warp charge which charges the OnePlus 7 and 7T series at 30W. Having said that, there is nothing preventing OnePlus from implementing both features apart from the obvious rise in cost. This also means that if wireless charging is a major feature on the next OnePlus phone, you can expect the price to be higher than 2019âs OnePlus Pro smartphones.
