6 Bollywood Films With Great Plotlines & Terrible Execution Which Made Them Tank At The Box Office

There are multiple reasons why a film does not work at the box office. It's not always because of bad writing or bad ideas. Terrible execution of the ideas also can be the reason why a film won't fair well at the box office.

Here, we look at 6 films with great plotlines and terrible execution:

1. Baar Baar Dekho

Produced under Dharma Productions, the film follows the life of Jai Verma who travels into the future only to find his life is in complete shambles.

Another time-play that could've worked extremely well had it not been for the slow direction and loopholes in the story. This became the reason why the film tanked at the box office.

2. Mr. X

Based on the concept of an invisible man, the film too could've explored with the strong concept it holds.

However cringe-worthy scenes like the one wherein Emraan Hashmi has *** in the pool as an invisible man, made the film a lost cause.

3. Dhoom 3

A rip-off of Nolan's Prestige, Dhoom 3's plotline is heavily inspired by the former.

What makes it worse if the fact that unlike Dhoom's predecessors, the film is not able to make the heist a thrilling one in the third sequel of the film.

4. Ra. One

The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer has a rather intriguing plotline wherein, Shekhar, a gaming programmer, creates an invincible virtual character called Ra. One that transcends to the real world.

The film had great potential, with the new-age tech and larger-than-life graphics. However, a slow-moving plotline made it a difficult watch for a lot of people.

5. Zero

Bauua, a person of short stature, falls in love with Aafia, a scientist suffering from cerebral palsy. The film follows his journey as he gets rejected by her.

With a unique narrative, there was so much potential in the film that could've been explored but too many elements instead made it a mess.

6. Love Story 2050

Set against a futuristic backdrop in the year 2050, Karan and Sana fall in love. However, she tragically dies in an accident and Karan decides to go forward in time and save her.

In the three-hour-long movie, the direction barely made any sense making it a huge failure at the box office.
