We've been living under the false pretense that everything bad happening this year would stay in this year only and everyone can't wait for 2020 to end.

While it looks like the pandemic will continue in 2021, we can still say good bye and good riddance to this godawful year and hope for the best in the new year.

Yes, no one wants to recap the (probably) most historic year of our lives, but we can still look at the silver lining and think of the things that got us through the year - memes.

The remix that started all of the remixes. This mashup of Saath Nibhana Sathiya scene made by the brilliant Yashraj Mukhate was so widespread, even the actors from the show appreciated the sudden popularity he gave this old scene.

For months, news channels could only talk about two things Rhea Chakraborty and drugs, so of course, we got a video of Arnab Goswami saying mujhe drugs do. Another hilarious remix, this time by Anshuman Sharma, took over desi Twitter more than any other trend.

The most widespread and confusing meme of the year, it started trending on Twitter out of nowhere and people didn't know what was even happening. Basically, it started with a video titled "Why Indian Comments Section Is Garbage (BINOD)" by YouTube Channel Slayy Point run by Abhyudaya and Gautami.

One viewer named Binod Tharu just wrote “Binod” in the comments in their video and hence, a meme was born.

When the entire world went into lockdown, one of the first viral tweets of that time was someone sharing that dolphins were seen in the canals of Venice and 'nature was healing' itself with no human interference.

That, of course, was debunked and gave way to one of the most hilarious quarantine memes.
