Arguably one of the most important bowling mainstays for India, Mohammed Shami has had a lot to deal with in the recent past. If the allegations of domestic violence by his wife delayed his central contract, his fitness woes - mainly extra weight - halted his progress at the international level last year. But, Shami, like a true champion, overcame all of it.
For someone who was India's leading fast bowler in the 2015 World Cup, Shami found himself out of the Indian ODI side as his recovery from an ankle surgery saw him gaining extra weight. But, rather than allowing his struggles to get the better of him, the 29-year-old used it as a source of motivation to return stronger. And that's exactly what happened.
