Delhi Cop Teaches Underprivileged Kids Who Can’t Join Online Classes & His Efforts Deserve Praise

This year has completely turned our lives upside down and made us all live a 'new normal'. Because of almost everything being shut down since March, it had been a nightmare for kids to keep up with their studies without actually going to school.

This also highlighted the difference between privileged and not so privileged kids and how it directly affects their access to education.

While a lot of kids had to adjust to online classes, so many more kids were left with no way to continue studies as they didn't have smartphones or laptops.

For a few of these underprivileged kids, a constable with Delhi Police became a hero in need and helped them study during the pandemic.

Than Singh has been running a makeshift school at the Sai Temple at Red Fort parking and made sure no kid is left behind.

The school has, in fact, been active for a long time, way before the pandemic, and Than Singh has been teaching the children of labourers residing in the area.

Initially, as the lockdown was implemented, the school had been shut down for the safety of the childer but when Than Singh realized that these kids did not have the gadgets to keep up with the online classes, he resumed the classes.

Talking to ANI, he said:

"I have been running this school for a long time but during the start of the pandemic I closed it for children's safety. But, when I saw many students were not able to take online classes, I decided to restart my school because they don't have things like phones and computers."

Making sure everyone's health and safety is a priority, he said:

"I am also providing them sanitizers, masks and we practice social distancing in our class."

While the country is currently so divided on a lot of issues, it's nice to see people looking out for others and helping in any way they can during such a difficult time.

Kudos to this great man making sure no kid is left behind!
