Apple shipped a beta version of iOS 14.5 last week to the developers and public beta testers and it came with a couple of interesting features. Among them is the ability to add third-party music services as the default music streaming service.
The feature was first spotted by Reddit users. After the update when you ask Siri to play a song for the first time, you'll be given an option to choose from a list of installed third-party music streaming apps. This wasn't the case earlier before the update and Siri used Apple Music as the default app.

That being said, it looks like the feature is still not perfect and it sometimes reverts back to Apple Music. So let's just say that there's still some work to do on Apple's end. This is just a beta version of the update, after all. We hope to see it working properly when the final version of the update ships for everyone.
In case you missed it, the new iOS 14.5 is said to be the biggest update to iOS 14 yet. It introduces several significant new features including the ability to unlock your iPhone using an Apple Watch while wearing a mask. That's probably not the best solution to unlock your phone while wearing a mask, but it's here for anybody who owns an Apple Watch too.
We'll have more to talk about the update once it goes live for everyone, so stay tuned for more on this.
