Virat Kohli has added another feather to his cap as he became the first cricketer to hit 100 million followers on Instagram. With this new record, he has again proven the fact that he enjoys a massive fan-following on the social media platforms and otherwise as well.

Shortly after the news broke, people took to social media to share congratulatory messages and went on to say that he has made India proud once again.

Virat has joined the elite club of the Instagram community that features football stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar, among other celebrities. The 32-year-old Kohli is also the first person in the Asia-Pacific region to achieve the feat. The cricketer is the fourth most followed sportsperson on Instagram. 

Portugal football star Cristiano Ronaldo tops the chart with 265 million followers, ahead of Argentina football captain and FC Barcelona legend Lionel Messi and Brazil's Neymar, who are second and third on the list with 186 million and 147 million followers respectively. 

In terms of Indians, the next on the list after Virat is Priyanka Chopra with 60.8 M followers, followed by Shraddha Kapoor who has 58 M followers on Instagram. 

On the personal front, Virat Kohli and wife Anushka Sharma were blessed with a baby girl on January 11, 2021. Anushka shared her name on Instagram with a picture wherein you can see Virat with his baby, Vamika. 

"We have lived together with love, presence and gratitude as a way of life but this little one, Vamika has taken it to a whole new level! Tears, laughter, worry, bliss – emotions that have been experienced in a span of minutes sometimes! Sleep is elusive, but our hearts are SO full ️,” the new mother wrote, while thanking everyone for their “wishes, prayers, and good energy," on Instagram.

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli had tied the knot in December 2017 in Tuscany, Italy. Pictures from their dreamy wedding were the talk of the town that year. And going ahead, we can certainly expect their daughter to be a hot favourite among the paparazzi.
