It’s time for Game of Thrones fans to get excited as HBO has finally released images from House of the Dragon. House of the Dragon, is a prequel to GOT which is based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire and Blood and is set 300 years before GOT. The show revolves around the story of House of Targaryen and one of the pictures which have been released showcases Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Prince Daemon Targaryen, played by Emma D'Arcy and Matt Smith. In the first picture, you can see both the characters in the same bright blonde hair, very similar to their descendant, Game of Thrones’ Daenerys Targaryen. Check out the first picture here- © HBO HBO in a statement described the new characters in the picture as, “Rhaenyra Targaryen: The king’s first-born child, she is of pure Valyrian blood, and she is a dragon rider. Many would say that Rhaenyra was born with everything… but she was not born a man." “Daemon Targaryen: The younger brother to King Viserys and heir to the throne. A peerless warrior and a dragon rider, Daemon possesses the true blood of the dragon. But it is said that whenever a Targaryen is born, the gods toss a coin in the air." © HBO In the second image, we can see Olivia Cook and Rhys Ifans who play Otto Hightower and his daughter Alicent Hightower respectively. In the show, Otto is the Hand of the King to the present ruler in the power of Westeros, King Viserys Targaryen. According to HBO’s statement, “Ser Otto loyally and faithfully serves both his king and his realm. As the Hand sees it, the greatest threat to the realm is the king's brother, Daemon, and his position as heir to the throne." The description also said, “Alicent is the most comely woman in the Seven Kingdoms. She was raised in the Red Keep, in King's Landing, close to the king and his innermost circle; she possesses both a courtly grace and a keen political acumen." © HBO In this image, we can see Steve Toussaint who is playing the role of Lord Corlys of House Velaryon, known as the Sea Snake. Corlys and his whole family are said to be from a Valyrian bloodline as old as House Targaryen. "As 'The Sea Snake,' the most famed nautical adventurer in the history of Westeros, Lord Corlys built his house into a powerful seat that is even richer than the Lannisters and that claims the largest navy in the world," says the description. The show is said to release in the year 2022 on HBO Max and we are already excited. What do you think? Let us know in the comments section below! View the full article

For all you Game of Thrones fans, here's a piece of great news. The wait is about to finally get over as a new GoT prequel series is in development at HBO. Yes, you read that right. The much-awaited show will be based on GoT author George RR Martin's Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas, whose events are set 90 years before A Song of Ice and Fire, books that were the source material for highly popular Game of Thrones series. © HBO We are totally excited for this one, as we are sure is the rest of the fandom. About The New Series The new series features the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk) and a young Aegon V Targaryen (Egg). Martin has published three novellas in the series, so far -- The Hedge Knight in 1998, The Sworn Sword in 2003, and The Mystery Knight in 2010. © Reuters Variety reports that the project is in early development, and no writer is attached to it yet. But it is a "high priority" title for HBO, as it looks to build on its post-Game of Thrones catalogue. Meanwhile, the first Game of Thrones prequel, titled House of the Dragon, is expected to land on HBO in 2022. More Details HBO has committed to at least 10 episodes of the series, co-created by Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik, who will also be directing several episodes. Entertainment Weekly cited sources saying that the series will, at some point, tackle the famed Targaryen civil war. Can't wait! © HBO For the unversed, earlier, another spin-off, created by Jane Goldman, had reached the pilot stage before being axed by HBO. Martin in his blog had written, “It goes without saying that I was saddened to hear the show would not be going to series. Jane Goldman is a terrific screenwriter, and I enjoyed brainstorming with her. I do not know why HBO decided not to go to series on this one, but I do not think it had to do with House of the Dragon.” More details are awaited.
