  1. Becoming financially independent brings along the responsibility of keeping a track of your monetary habits. It is simply said than done, but here are some apps that will exactly do the job for you. What do you need to do? You just need to download them and then see how smooth your expense tracking becomes. Plus there are many apps people are using for direct bank transfer of money without any hassle of taking the account number or IFSC code. Then there are apps that will help you grow your money by helping you invest in mutual funds, and in case you are in need of some money, there are personal loan providing apps too making your life easier. Personal Loan Apps 1. Money View Loans This app lets you get a personal loan in just a few hours. This simple app has a lot more to offer. You can get a loan even if you want to throw a party or take a break & go on a family vacation or when you decide to furnish your home or cover wedding expenses. This app is able to approve and disburse loans for salaried individuals, faster and more conveniently. This is applicable for even those without a credit history. 2. CASHe © cashe CASHe is an app-only instant personal loan app. In other terms, it is a lending platform that gives personal loans to young salaried professionals. It gives you personal loans ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 2,00,000 for credit periods ranging from 15, 30, 90 & 180 days. Personal Finance Money Apps Or Daily Expense Manager Apps 3. Qykly © Google Play/qyklyapp Qykly is a daily expense manager app. It can simplify your life keeping things organized and help you track personal expenses. It gives you a breakup and analysis of your expenses, transactions and helps you perform several financial transactions easily. It does so by analyzing your SMS inbox and detecting important information like expenditure, tickets, bills and more by reading only your Transactional SMS which can include Credit Cards, Mobile Wallets, Bills, Online purchases, Train Ticket Booking Status messages. 4. Money View by WhizDM If you have been struggling with tracking your expenses and want to keep a track of where your money comes and goes, then this is the app for you. This app can track your expenses automatically using the expense manager (via SMS). It can: 1. View your bank account balance which is tracked via bank SMS. 2. Set & follow a budget, in other words, it can help you keep a check on your expense. 3. Keep a track of your office reimbursements and can also give bill reminders. Investment Apps 5. ET Money © etmoney Mutual funds and Systematic Investment Plan(SIP) are the future. Why? Because they give better returns as compared to fixed deposits or savings account. Sometime back there was this misconception about mutual funds, that they are very risky in their nature but with time and increased awareness people are recognizing that they are not so risky after all. Suppose it's the first day of the month and you have received your salary in your bank account. Now, the first thing you should do with this money is to put a share of it in your savings account and invest some. Do not try to be debt free at once, but feed them with what is left after investing, saving and sustaining. On an average, Mutual Funds give you double the return for what you get in a Fixed Deposit, which is usually around 7-8 percent in India. The longer you invest, the less risky it gets. You can start investing in mutual funds early and benefit from the power compounding. ET Money is one such app that can help you better manage your funds. This way your money can work for you instead of you working for the money. Isn't that a smart move? 6. Fyers Fyers is a mobile trading app or you can say an online stockbroker, which serves as a trading platform in India. With the help of Fyers you can save up to 95% brokerage costs which earlier used to get wasted on the middleman's commission. You can just download their app and others like it and start investing small as per your understanding. You can start with 1000 bucks in your wallet and choose the sector you want to invest in. It is that simple. 7. Fisdom - Mutual Fund Investment Fisdom allows you to invest in top performing mutual funds. If you are looking to grow your money with a better interest rate then this is the app for you. Money Transfer Apps 8. Tez © Dealnloot Tez is just another mobile payment service in the pool but it has been developed by Google. Google has developed this app especially targeting users from India. What's special about this app is that you can directly transfer money to anyone's bank account if they also have the Tez app installed and with that, you get a lucky draw each time you transact at least Rs 500. There could be three scenarios with each transaction. One is you will often get a scratch and earn around 1 to 100 or more, second is you can win something in thousands and thirdly you may get 'better luck next time'. One of my friends got Rs 8,500 in a single transaction. Happy him! Remember it is not the app to app transfer but more like a bank to bank transfer. Download it and you will see you had never transacted money more easily in your life before. 9. BHIM The BHIM app allows you to make cashless payments or receive money from friends, family, and customers through a mobile number or a payment address. This app has been considered a major success in digital payments push by Government of India. 10. Paytm This is one of those apps that started the 'go cashless' culture in India. When one doesn't have cash in his pocket he or she will most probably have Paytm on his smartphone. Most of the merchants are happy to take money via the Paytm app and the number of people using this app is only increasing by the day.
  2. Like it or not, Valentine's Day is just around the corner. That means planning for it, getting ready, gifting - the usual shebang. It's ironic that a day that is supposed to be all about love, is reduced to one that is about a 'Roadies' style task instead, the aim of which is to impress your partner. We examined the problem closely and found out the main issue that causes all the confusion and stress is that most men are clueless about what to gift their partners. And why don't they know what to gift? Because it's tough AF to figure out what women want. Plus it's 2018, so roses and chocolates and soft toys just don't cut it anymore. Keeping the happiness of our homies in mind, we went ahead and got the information right from the horse's mouth. We asked 10 women about that one perfect gift they'd love to receive on Valentine's Day. 1. For the practical girlfriend: I honestly don't expect, or even want a really expensive gift from my partner. What would really impress me would be if he shows that he notices really small but important, seemingly trivial details about me. I always treat skincare with priority and love the amazing sheet masks from Innisfree. If he gets me a bunch of them in different flavours, that will be the perfect gift for me. — Naina, 27, Photographer © Innisfreeworld Get it here 2. For the girlfriend you have been dating forever: I would just love to be pampered. You know what would really make me happy? A super relaxed, stress-free day in the spa. What can possibly make a girl happier? — Sukriti, 29, HR Professional © Euromedspa Get it here 3. For the spoilt girlfriend: Okay, I might sound like a materialistic girl, but let's be honest here, nothing else can give you as much happiness as diamonds. Hey, you wanted an honest answer. — Natasha, 26, Engineer © Caratlane Get it here 4. For the domestic goddess girlfriend: I love a man who has good taste in crockery. I'd be very impressed if he gifts me some jewel glasses. The kitchen is extremely important for me and if a man is good in there, that's half the battle won for him. — Suranjini, 30, Chef © Goodearth Get it here 5. For the glam girlfriend: I love lipsticks. I am obsessed. I like to collect them. If he gifts me a L'Oreal Paris x Balmain Limited Edition piece, I will be super impressed. The real challenge for him, however, will be to find a colour that I already don't own. — Liza, 26, Control Systems Engineer © Barneys Get it here 6. For the classy girlfriend: I don't expect my guy to wow me with unrealistic gifts. But he surely should be able to manage an evergreen sort of gift that's perfect for any occasion. A perfume works! And you know which one qualifies as 'the perfume'? Chanel No. 5. — Anaita, 27, Graphics Designer © Graziadaily Get it here 7. For the girlfriend with impeccable taste: Given my profession, I will be really impressed if my partner manages to wow me with a piece of decor that is minimalistic yet gorgeous. I have had my eyes stuck on this beautiful vase from Thelohasmith for some time now. © Thelohasmith Get it here 8. For the ethnic girlfriend: I am really passionate about ethnic Indian jewellery that is not gaudy. I love the pendants from Tribe by Amrapali. — Shivani, 24, Art Director © TribeByAmrapali Get it here 9. For the naughty girlfriend: Some good *** would be amazing. But I need to be in the perfect mood. You know what would be a perfect gift? This hot red bodysuit from La Perla I recently came across and haven't been able to get out of my mind. — Lavanya, 25, Fashion Designer © La Perla Get it here: The La Perla Boutique, DLF Emporio, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi - 110070 10. For the emotional girlfriend: Polaroid Cameras, one for each of us. They can capture one of their favorite moments of the day and store them, while I do the same. Let us also say, my hypothetical beloved one lives miles away from me. Every time we get a chance to meet, we exchange the physical photographs, store them with us and create memories suiting our happiness. — Divya, 22, Senior Copywriter © Amazon Get it here

  4. No matter what part of the world you reside in, you've worn a pop colour at least once in life. They may not be very household, but bright colours are bonafide winners as stand-out pieces to own (plus, they're not even that dramatic). But dug deep into, their appearance with denim is a most sought after combo. Two A-list, classic trends will obvs result in a big celebration. No? To help us score brownie points with this combo and our denim pairings as a whole—blogger Akshay Sharma gives us a peak into his denim school of thought... Your first ever denim purchase? I was probably 5 or 6, when my dad bought me my first pair of denims. I was obsessed with them! Until I gained weight and they stopped fitting me! Is denim a pizza or a burger? I'd say, a Hawaiian pizza. I love wearing denims, as much as I love pineapples on my pizza. Maybe a crime, but it's all about your guilty pleasures sometimes. Ever had a smelly jeans moment? Never! I feel ambushed & get paranoid when my clothes start to stink. I'm a mess (lol). How often do you wash your jeans? The more you wash denim, the more it'll fade & loose it's appeal (especially black jeans). So, I wash them once in a month! Ever tried dungarees? I have! And my mum tells me I look as cute as a baby boy in them. Your take on gender-fluid denim habits? I wear nail paint, gender neutral apparel and accessories almost every day. And guess what, my family is completely cool with it! But publicly, yes—I do feel interrogating eyes staring at me sometimes. In my opinion, it's no one's business to question an individual's style of dressing. I'm glad that people have now become more accepting, but there's still a long way to go. Dark wash or light wash? I've been wearing a lot of light wash denim this year. Probably because I've burnt myself out wearing an excess of dark washes in the past. Ripped or distressed? Ripped, they look unapologetically dope. White or black denim? Black! First off, it's hassle-free. But most importantly, they let you enjoy your red wine without the fear of a stain. Love or hate skinny jeans? Absolutely adore skinny jeans! But I wear them only once in a blue moon. Your go-to denim outfit? In summers—tank tops & distressed denim shorts. I prefer wearing minimal clothing in the heat! Actually, I even go commando at times. In winter, my denim jacket is a must. Your go-to denim brand? Levi's & H&M. One unusual denim hack that only you know of? To fade-wash your jeans, take baking powder & apply it on the fabric. Now, grab a few sketch pens & add colour to your denim (in whichever way you'd like). After a while, run some Hydrogen Peroxide (readily available at pharmacies) all over the fabric, (with the help of a cotton dab) to arrive upon your DIY-ed pair of fade-wash jeans! Ever committed a denim faux pas? Multiple times! I visited a casino in Goa recently, wearing distressed jeans like a boss. In a matter of minutes, I had to head to buy myself an alternate pair of jeans, to gain entry inside. My jeans could be excessively distressed for their dress code, but in my defense—I was too drunk to notice. '30 days of Denim' is a social experiment of sorts, or in layman terms, the ultimate Denim guide, on how to inject your personality, and inherent sense of self into, say, a basic-ass pair of jeans. Bonus: It features 30 really cool men, all with very distinct style sensibilities, but primarily, each having an innate love for all things denim. 5. When it’s about re-engineering running technology, you bet Nike’s cooking up something. The running market is forever growing and Nike leaves no stone unturned to take the lead. The latest offering for runners out of its stable is the Free RN Flyknit. As soon as it came out, we got our hands on a pair and put it to a field test. Should you buy it? Here’s the answer. It’s Weightless! © YouTube It’s literally weightless. Yup, as light as a feather, it feels like you are barely dragging a shoe along. The traditional FlyKnit upper combined with the tristar-sole makes it the lightest shoe we have ever reviewed. It’s so light that it wouldn’t be wrong calling them ‘socks’ instead of a shoe. It’s So Flexible That You Can Roll It Up And Fit It In Your Pocket © YouTube Nope, we didn’t really do it but if you squeeze it and roll it up on purpose, it might just fit into your pocket. Again, the magic here are the impeccably crafted upper and the foam tri-sole. Th upper is literally strength fiber woven together. We tried twisting and turning it every way possible and it bounced back right back its original form, unscathed. The Sole © YouTube The craziest part of this shoe is its sole. It is literally a grid of tri-star chunks of foam perfectly aligned together. The logical behind this new ‘sole construct’ is that it lets the foot move in its natural ‘curve and extend’ movement. The Run © YouTube After we were done playing around, we threw them on and hit the tarmac. We essentially ran on the road. Exactly how a lot of runners in India do it. The impact response of the shoe is pretty smooth. Instead of feeling a hard rebound thump on the foot, the sole absorbs the shock pretty effortlessly. There’s just a mere 4 mm drop on the heel on a sole 90% made of foam, so that explains a lot itself. Buy Or Nah? © YouTube If you love running, this shoe is for you. It fits like a dream and enhances the running stance. It’s light and looks pretty sturdy. But the interesting part here is that it can also double up as an ‘inside-the-gym’ shoe. Just don’t squat or deadlift wearing running shoes!

  8. It's been almost four years since Yusuf Pathan last featured for India on the international circuit. But the right-hander is back in the news for a unique feat he achieved after signing up for the Hong Kong League. The explosive batsman has become the first Indian male cricketer to sign for an overseas franchise-based T20 league and feels that it will be ideal preparation for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). "I firstly want to thank the BCCI and BCA for giving me the NOC. I am really excited about this venture and I think it will be good preparation for the IPL. That is why I signed for it," Yusuf, who plays for KKR in the IPL, revealed. Huge news for @KowloonCantons fans & the DTC Hong Kong T20 Blitz as India's Yusuf Pathan signs on! #HKT20Blitz https://t.co/16qYQyO30J — Hong Kong Cricket (@CricketHK) February 11, 2017 The 34-year-old will be seen sporting the jersey of Kowloon Cantons for the tournament's second edition, slated to begin on 8 March. He will be playing alongside Pakistan's Shahid Afridi and England's latest find Tymal Mills - who looked impressive in the recent T20 series against India. Other prominent signings for the league include Sri Lankan veterans Kumar Sangakkara and Tillakaratne Dilshan. On the other hand, West Indies' Darren Sammy, New Zealand's James Franklin and the former South African spinner Johan Botha will also be seen in action. Pathan, who has represented Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders, has proved to be a great addition to the IPL over the years. The right-handed batsman has scored 2761 runs over the nine editions of the IPL and is amongst the top-15 run-scorers in the tournament. BCCL His batting prowess was at full display during his 15-ball half-century (fastest fifty in the IPL) against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2014 edition of the IPL. He also boasts of a blistering 37-ball hundred he slammed against Mumbai Indians in 2010. Hong Kong T20 Blitz, a four-team event, will span over a period of five days with Cantons, Galaxy Gladiators Lantau, City Kaitak and Hong Kong Island United vying for the title.
