Having a six-pack is something that every guy aspires when it comes to having a good physique. If you are reading this article, it is highly possible that even you have searched something like this on the internet: 'How to lose belly fat?' 'How to get six-pack abs?' 'Easy way to build six-pack abs?' The search results that you may have gotten would be of fat burning drinks or fat loss exercises or belly fat burning techniques. Like everyone, you do those things and the end result is... nothing! © Getty Images It is high time you get it into your brain that there is no magical fix that can help you get a six-pack in a week. It needs hard work and dedication. Start with these basic steps: 1. Go On A Diet Everyone has abs, as it is the part of human physiology. The only reason people are not able to see their abs are for two reasons: a. They have a lot of body fat covering it b. They do not have developed abdominal muscles Let's cover the first part here. The reality is that you need to be on a diet to bring your body fat percentage down. At the same time, you would want to preserve the muscle mass you already have. To calculate the number of calories you need to eat for fat loss, simply multiply your body weight in pounds with 13. To preserve your muscle, have one gram of protein per pound of your body weight. If you weigh 160 lbs., this would mean: a. Calories = 160x13 = ~2100 calories b. Protein = 160 grams 2. Do Weight Training You need to lift weights to hold on to your muscle when you lose fat. © Getty Images Make sure that you are doing compound exercises aka exercises that engage your core, and are moving more than one muscle group at a time so that you build your core. You can also include direct ab training with and without abs to build them further ahead. 3. Lose Around 0.5 To 1% Of Your Body Weight Every Week You will definitely get started on a diet once you plug in those numbers from step #1 and start losing weight. Then, there will be two questions: a. How much weight to lose? b. How fast to lose it? To reveal a six-pack, you need to have around 10 to 12% body fat. So, until you reach that number, you will have to dig deep. To find your body fat number, you can use a lot of tools like online calculators or Inbody machines. Ideally, you should be losing around 0.5 to 1% of your body weight every week. If things are faster than this, you could eat some extra calories. If you are comfortable with it, you can pick up the pace a bit. If things have slowed down, you can either calculate the numbers again on your new body weight or you can simply drop 100-150 calories and things should pick up. So, go do the work and follow a plan instead of finding the next quick-fix for six-pack abs. Don't get me wrong, the camera is not awful but it's also not up to the mark when compared to other smartphones. We test numerous smartphones throughout the year and even some budget smartphones have managed to take better pictures than the OnePlus 6/6T. I've often heard internet trolls comment on every iPhone or Pixel Review “I can buy a OnePlus 6 and a DSLR for the same price as an iPhone.” While that may be true when considering price as a factor, but if you like to take quality pictures, you will end up doing just that. Unless you're a photography enthusiast, you really don't want to lug around a DSLR camera everywhere with you. Ask me! I do it for reviews and it's not always convenient. In an age where social media plays a vital role in our lives, we really need a good camera smartphone that doesn't cost too much and OnePlus needs to be that phone. I'm not saying that future OnePlus smartphones need to have the best smartphone cameras, I'm just saying it needs to be better. © OnePlus Even with the addition of Nightscape mode on the OnePlus 6T, the camera still takes pictures that are often blurry, noisy and also face focusing issues. In fact, it's a recurring problem that you can find on OnePlus' official forums as well. Having said that, the company has improved the OnePlus6/6T's imagine capabilities over time with regular software updates and incremental upgrades in the hardware department each year, we can expect something outstanding with the OnePlus 7. OnePlus and Oppo share the same supply chain as we've seen OnePlus use the tear-drop design it borrowed from R17 Pro. In fact, there's a good chance that OnePlus may use Oppo's upcoming smartphone camera. As of now, the OnePlus 6/6T uses a dual-camera setup however neither of the lenses is a telephoto lens. Photo: File ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) took up today a contempt of court petition against Nawaz Sharif which seeks to ban the former prime minister from making ?anti-judiciary speeches?. The petitioner, Advocate Makhdoom Niaz Inqalabi, has requested the court to ban the transmission of speeches by Nawaz, saying the former prime minister criticises judges while addressing the public and media. Taking up the petition, Justice Aamer Farooq observed that a similar case is being heard in the Lahore High Court. "Let?s wait and see what directions the LHC gives in the case," the judge remarked and adjourned the hearing until February 26. Nawaz questions 'morality lessons from PCO judges' Accountability court reserves verdict on former PM, family's plea to be exempted from appearance from Feb 19 to Mar 5 on account of London visit He also directed the petitioner to present arguments regarding the rules of the Press Council of Pakistan at the next hearing. Nawaz's disqualification After being disqualified from premiership on July 28, 2017, Nawaz has been addressing public rallies and meetings, observing that the Supreme Court disrespected the public?s vote with its decision. After the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's victory in the recent NA-154 by-election in Lodhran, Nawaz once again said the poll results showed the public had rejected the apex court?s decision. Nawaz, along with PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and MNA Hamza Shehbaz, was in Lodhran on February 17 to thank the public for voting in the candidate fielded by their party. Google made good on its promise to fix the hamburger emoji, which led to an online debacle last month. The people who argued that the cheese goes on top of the burger won, and the emoji has been fixed, according to Emojipedia, a site which tracks the emoji universe and all the changes. The burger emoji has been updated in the Android 8.1. The emoji now matches all its other counterparts where the cheese is on the top. On October 28, a user pointed out: ?I think we need to have a discussion about how Google's burger emoji is placing the cheese underneath the burger, while Apple puts it on top.? The tweet had more than 51,000 likes and 25,000 retweets. Replying to this, Google CEO Sundar Pichai replied he would ?drop everything? to address this issue. As a result, internet started debating over the correct way to stack a cheeseburger. Google even went to experiment with putting the cheese at the bottom, according to one of the users. The update has finally put the debate to rest!

KARACHI: Much to the relief of Sindh?s sugarcane growers, the provincial government after a month-long delay on Wednesday, fixed the official procurement price of the tropical grass and announced commencing its crushing season from today. The price at which the plant will be made available to buyers has been fixed at Rs182 per 40kg (maund). The decisions were taken by the provincial Sugar Cane Control Board in a meeting presided over by Sindh Agriculture and Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal. Addressing media personnel on the occasion, Siyal said the fresh procurement rates have been fixed keeping in view the legitimate interests of both the growers as well as sugar mill owners in Sindh. ?Centre to also be blamed? Speaking of the delay, the agriculture minister claimed that the federal government was also to be blamed as it failed to take a timely decision over whether to export or not to the sugar stocks available in the country. The people of Sindh had to suffer a lot owing to the federal government?s indecision over the matter, Siyal stated. Had it not been for the centre, Sindh would have fixed the official sugar cane price a long time ago, added the minister. He said the current decision much like the previous decisions taken by the Sindh government has been taken in accordance with the vision of Pakistan Peoples Party leadership which aims to resolve public issues in light of the common people?s aspirations.

‘Depression' is a crucial issue, which if not dealt with properly can bear serious consequences on the people suffering from it. Yet, there are some who use this term so loosely that it has lost its relevance now. Even the slightest of troubles compel people to tag themselves as depressed. However, depression is a psychological health condition and much bigger and worse than what you or I can ever imagine. Kayley Olsson, a 20-year-old hairdresser in Waterloo, Iowa got to know about this the hard way, after a 16-year-old girl walked into her salon with tangled and thick matted hair. © Facebook “Today I had one of the hardest experiences – I had a 16-year-girl come in who has been dealing with severe depression for a few years now,” Kayley wrote in her Facebook post. The teenager was so depressed and felt “so down and so worthless” that she couldn't even brush her hair and wanted Kelly to chop it all off. The girl had been dealing with depression for years and had now reached a point where she couldn't even face the pain of combing out the knots. But Kayley was not ready to agree to the girl's wish to chop off her hair. Instead, she and her colleague did something which is truly commendable. Kayley spent a record 13 hours fixing her hair and her self-esteem and we thankful and proud of such people who empathize with others pain and misery and help them fight it bravely. © Facebook According to a report in the BBC, Kayley said “It took a lot of encouraging words, reassurance and just plain conversation to take her mind off the pain involved in removing the matting and to boost her self-esteem and confidence.” Kayley's colleague Mariah said “I was able to very closely relate to her mental health problems and the daily struggle that comes with them, due to my struggles with postpartum depression and anxiety.” Kayley was so moved by this girl's pain that she wrote in her post, “Parents take it serious don't just push your kids off and tell them to get over something they legitimately can't. A child should never feel so worthless to not even want to brush their hair.” The girl left the salon not just with a new hairstyle but also a new found confidence that will help her shape a better personality. “I will actually smile for my school pictures today, you made me feel like me again,” were the girl's words to Kayley. It is not the first time when a stranger turned into a messiah for people struggling with mental health. A few days ago, Brent Warfield helped an 11-year-old boy who was bullied in school, by escorting him to school along with his 50 biker friends. Depression does not target any particular age group or gender. It can hit anyone at any point in and it is times like these when we need people like Kayley and Brent Warfield who selflessly help them overcome the difficulties. It's people like Kayley who don't let humanity fade away and ensure that everyone gets an equal chance to appreciate their life instead of pitying it.

Apple makes iPhone screen fixes easier as states mull repair laws

Apple Inc customers will soon have more choices as the company looks to reduce long wait times for iPhone repairs at its retail stores. By the end of 2017, Apple will put its proprietary machines for mending cracked iPhone glass in about 400 authorized third-party repair centers in 25 countries, company executives told Reuters. Among the first recipients is Minneapolis-based Best Buy, which has long sold and serviced Apple products. The electronics retailer already has one of the screen-repair machines at a Miami-area store and one coming soon to an outlet in Sunnyvale, California. Fixing cracked screens may seem like small potatoes, but it's a multi-billion-dollar global business. The move is also a major shift for Apple. The company had previously restricted the use of its so-called Horizon Machine to its nearly 500 retail stores and mail-in repair centers, and it has guarded its design closely. The change also comes as eight US states have launched "right to repair" bills aimed at prying open the tightly controlled repair networks of Apple and other high-tech manufacturers. Apple said the legislative pressure was not a factor in its decision to share its technology. It allowed Reuters to view and photograph the machines in action at a lab near its Cupertino, California headquarters. Until now, Apple had never formally acknowledged the Horizon Machine's existence. The initial rollout aims to put machines in 200, or about 4 percent, of Apple's 4,800 authorized service providers worldwide over the next few months. The company plans to double that figure by the end of the year. "We've been on a quest to expand our reach," said Brian Naumann, senior director of service operations at Apple. He said repair wait times have grown at some of the company's busiest retail stores. Pilot testing started a year ago. In addition to Miami, a few machines already are operating at third-party repair centers in the Bay Area, London, Shanghai, and Singapore. Shops in some countries where Apple has no retail presence will also be early recipients, including locations in Colombia, Norway, and South Korea. Apple would not say how much its partners are paying for the equipment. To be sure, any mall repair kiosk can replace a cracked iPhone screen. Apple says its customers can get their devices fixed at non-authorized shops without voiding their warranties as long as the technician caused no damage. But the Horizon Machine is needed to remedy the trickiest mishaps, such as when the fingerprint sensor attached to the back of the glass gets damaged when a phone is dropped. For security, only Apple's fix-it machine can tell the iPhone's processor, its silicon brain, to recognize a replacement sensor. Without it, the iPhone won't unlock with the touch of a finger. Banking apps that require a fingerprint won't work either, including the Apple Pay digital wallet. "RIGHT TO REPAIR" GAINING STEAM Apple has sold more than 1 billion iPhones worldwide, many of customers who don't live near an Apple Store or an authorized third-party repair center. For fixes, many have turned to mom-and-pop shops and independent technicians that now dominate the trade. Research firm IBISWorld estimates the global cell phone repair business generates about $4 billion in revenue per year. Many of these entrepreneurs do good work. Some don't. All use copycat parts because Apple, like other major manufacturers, doesn't supply original parts or repair manuals to anyone but authorized service partners. Big companies defend this arrangement as the only way they can guarantee high-quality repair work and keep hackers away from the proprietary software that makes their products tick. Consumer advocates, however, say their aim is to wring outsized profits from repairs. Independent technicians often charge less than the cost of a factory fix. Enter right-to-repair bills. New York, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas, and Wyoming have introduced legislation looking to aid small shops and do-it-yourself tinkerers. These proposed measures would require manufacturers to supply repair manuals, diagnostic tools, and authentic replacement parts at fair prices to independent technicians and the general public. Apple, heavy equipment manufacturer Caterpillar Inc and medical device maker Medtronic Plc have lobbied against New York's bill. In Nebraska, Apple sent its state and local lobbying chief Steve Kester to visit the Republican lawmaker sponsoring that state's measure. "Apple is telling me this is a bad thing because you're going to have a mecca for hackers in Nebraska," State Sen. Lydia Brasch said of Kester's February visit. Apple hasn't commented on the bills, but a trade group it belongs to contends the Nebraska measure would force the company to divulge how it secures sensitive data on the iPhone. "Think about how much of our personal lives are in this device," said Mike Lanigan, head engineer for Apple's service efforts. INSIDE THE LAB Apple got into the screen-fixing business just three years ago with the introduction of the iPhone 5. Up until then, customers whose phones were out of warranty paid a "repair" fee, but Apple simply replaced the entire phone. Lanigan said customers have been requesting repair service since shortly after the introduction of the iPhone in 2007, but the company waited until it could perfect the process. "We view the service aspect of this as all part of the overall Apple experience," Lanigan said. Apple doesn't break out repair revenue in its financial statements. Analysts estimate it at $1 billion to $2 billion annually for all products. As Apple's screen mending has matured, its prices have dropped to $129 to $149, depending on screen size, from $229. That's competitive with many independent shops for newer iPhones. Still, some technicians charge as little as $60 to fix older models. Apple says its process aims to make the display look like it just came out of the box. To demonstrate, the company allowed Reuters to observe the Horizon Machine at a repair lab in Sunnyvale, California. In the cavernous, brightly lit lab painted in Apple's signature sparkling white, two lab technicians clad in T-shirts, shorts and tennis shoes scurried between rows of long white metal tables stuffed with test equipment. Dozens of Horizon Machines lined the tables. The contraptions, gray metal boxes the size of a microwave with a swing-out windowed door, vary slightly in shape depending on the model of iPhone they repair. Apple would not say where the machines were made or by whom. In a smaller training room, a technician laid out the tools Apple uses to fix iPhone screens: special screwdrivers for the iPhone's five- and three-lobed screws, a custom suction-cup for loosening the screen without tearing the delicate ribbon cables behind it, and a press to squeeze iPhone 7s to ensure waterproofing. Once the new screen is mounted, the iPhone goes into the Horizon Machine, which allows Apple's software to communicate with the fresh hardware. Over the course of 10 to 12 minutes, the machine talks to the phone's operating system to pair the fingerprint sensor to the phone's brain. While that unfolds, a mechanical finger jabs the screen in multiple places to test the touch-sensitive surface. The machine also fine tunes the display and software to match the precise colors and calibration of the original. "We design for a customer experience that exceeds anything our competitors try to do," said Naumann, Apple's service chief. "We endeavor to make it right at the same standard as when the customer bought the product."
