  7. Manisha Koirala was among the most popular Bollywood actresses of the 90s. During that era, the actress gave a lot of memorable performances including Khamoshi, Dil Se among others. Just like her strong performances, the actress’ love life too stayed in the limelight. Well, her most controversial affair was with Nana Patekar, who was already married and 20-years older than her. View this post on Instagram Nana and Manisha met on the sets of their film Agni Sakshi in 1996 and fell in love. At that time, the actress had just ended her relationship with actor Vivek Mushran. Nana's menacing charisma was too much for her to resist. As they started filming for the movie, the two began dating in secret. After Agni Sakshi, the duo teamed up again for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Khamoshi and the news about their off-screen chemistry spread like a wildfire back then. Manisha ultimately admitted that she and Nana were in a relationship, and the actor too acknowledged it. At that time, Nana and his wife Neelakanti were living separately. View this post on Instagram Nana and Manisha are both known for their fiery personalities and they often used to fight with each other. They were in love with each other, however, Nana wasn't ready to marry Manisha. There was a buzz that he was involved with actress Ayesha Jhulka as well. Their relationship went downhill when Manisha reportedly caught Nana with Jhulka in a closed room. Despite her anger towards Nana, the Sanju actress first screamed at Ayesha. When Manisha first saw them together, she supposedly said to Ayesha, "Get off my man, you bi**h". Both Ayesha and Nana fiercely denied any romantic relationship. Post this incident, Manisha moved on in life and Nana too never went back to her to rekindle their relationship. Another reason behind their breakup was Nana's refusal to marry Manisha. View this post on Instagram Later, the actor confessed missing Manisha in an interview with Filmfare and said, "She is the most sensitive actress around. She is like a kasturi hiran, she still needs to realise that she doesn't need to keep pace with anyone. She has it all and that's more than enough. I can barely hold back the tears when I see what she's doing to herself. Maybe I don't have anything to say about her today! A break-up is a very difficult phase. You have to experience it to know the pain. I can't describe the pain I went through. Please, let's not talk about this. I miss Manisha!" On the Bollywood front, both Nana and Manisha aren't too active currently. While Manisha was last seen in the English film India Sweets and Spices, Nana's last release was the long-delayed It's My Life. The film was released in 2020. Source: Pinkvilla View the full article
  8. US President Joe Biden was caught insulting a journalist on a live microphone
  9. There have been numerous instances on a cricket field when players have publicly criticised and confronted the umpires for making controversial decisions. The players pointing a finger on the technology is a common occurrence in this sport but you know something is seriously wrong when an umpire does the same. Was it the right decision? Shaun Pollock and Sunil Gavaskar discuss the use of hawkeye after Umpire adjudged Dean Elgar out lbw but reversed his decision as the tracking technology showed the ball going over the wicket... pic.twitter.com/k9w9ajisE1 — Sky Sports Cricket (@SkyCricket) January 13, 2022 After all, it’s not very often that we see an on-field umpire questioning the decision made by a fellow match official. With series on the line, some of the senior members of Indian contingent, including skipper Virat Kohli, lost their cool on the field and lashed out at the official broadcasters after South Africa captain Dean Elgar got a reprieve, thanks to a controversial DRS. Kohli and Indian players on the stump mic #SAvIND pic.twitter.com/fXs6x8RFtD — Xolani (@ThatXolani) January 13, 2022 Kohli and his teammates, including vice-captain KL Rahul, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and Mayank Agarwal, were heard accusing the South African broadcasters of tampering with the ball-tracking technology in order to help the hosts win the series. Every conversation caught on stump mic: Kohli: Certainly conducting a fair game here DRS... #SAvIND — Cricbuzz (@cricbuzz) January 13, 2022Kohli: Focus on your team as well and not just the opposition, trying to catch people all the time #SAvIND — Cricbuzz (@cricbuzz) January 13, 2022Kohli: Well done DRS, very well done #SAvIND — Cricbuzz (@cricbuzz) January 13, 2022Kohli: Focus on your team as well when they shine the ball, eh! Not just the opposition, trying to catch people all the time #SAvIND — Cricbuzz (@cricbuzz) January 13, 2022 In the heat of the moment, the Indian players said something which they probably shouldn’t have. But they weren’t the only ones who were shocked by the controversial outcome predicted by the ball-tracking technology. The on-field umpire Marais Erasmus, who had declared Dean Elgar out leg before, also couldn’t believe how this decision could be overturned as it looked plumb with naked eyes. pic.twitter.com/MRnPViICuL — Addicric (@addicric) January 13, 2022 Just like Indian players, even he couldn’t believe what he just saw on the big screen, and while overturning his original decision, he was caught in the stump mic uttering: “That is impossible”, not once but twice. Mind you, Erasmus is no rookie. The former South Africa cricketer is one of the most respected cricket umpires in the world. He has officiated in 107 Tests, 158 ODIs and 51 T20Is and many regard him as the best in the business. © Reuters A match official of his stature openly expressing his disagreement with the decision just goes on to show how dubious of a call that was. If the umpire who had nothing to do with the outcome of the match couldn’t digest this decision, just imagine what the Indian players, who were fighting hard to win their maiden Test series on South African soil, would have felt after finding themselves on the wrong side of another controversial decision in this closely-fought series. © Reuters The Indian players had every right to feel aggrieved by the decision and one could understand why they reacted in the manner they did. All the India players who were caught on stump mic venting their frustrations out are likely to be fined handsomely by the match referee. © Reuters We wonder if the match referee will hand out a similar treatment to his fellow match official as well. Because by expressing dissatisfaction with the TV umpire’s decision he also broke the ICC code of conduct. View the full article
