With his upcoming RRR, the actor’s craze in North India has been elevated as his North Indian fans will get to see him in a pan-Indian film. Few years ago, he was approached to star in a film called Oopiri, which also had Nagarjuna and Tamannah Bhatia. Directed by noted director Vamshi Paidipally, the film is based on the French movie The Intouchables. The film follows a millionaire entrepreneur who is a paraplegic (played by Nagarjuna), who hires a convict as his caretaker. The movie chronicles the bond formed between them. The caretaker’s role was originally offered to Jr NTR and various rumours floated around circling the reason why he didn’t take it. Most reports claimed it was a date issue and he was unable to take this project, even after giving it a nod. However, there were reports that claimed that one of the reasons why the actor wasn’t too keen to take this role was due to one of the scenes, which involved the caretaker removing the millionaire’s socks and touching his feet. Few websites claimed that he was concerned that his fans might not like it and it may not go down well with them . Jr NTR's fan base loves him ardently and the actor always takes into account what the audience wants to see from him. The role was eventually played by actor Karthi, who did a fantastic job. As per a report published in Herald Sun, Paine’s brother-in-law Shannon Tubb, who played first-class cricket for Tasmamia in the 90s, had also sent explicit messages to the same female co-worker. Following the investigation conducted by Cricket Tasmania in 2018, Tubb was allegedly sacked from his coaching role due to his unsavoury conduct. Amid the fresh drug scandal surrounding Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, who was detained for possessing drugs while being on board a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast, one can actually see that it is not the first time that such a thing has happened in Bollywood. © BCCL Drug scandals like these have often cropped up in the Bollywood that, in terms of the entire Indian film fraternity, is unlike any other because of the riches and glamour involved in it. It is now Aryan Khan and a few others that are at the center of it, but let's take a look at some of the biggest Bollywood names that had a run-in with drugs back when they were bracketed under the popular category of being a Bollywood Star Kid. 1. Sanjay Dutt © Twitter There is no bigger star to be involved in a number of scandals than Sanjay Dutt, adored in the industry by the name of Sanju Baba. The actor, who has since then battled his fair share of challenges and come out on top of it, had his first run with drugs back in college. The Munnabhai MBBS actor admitted that there wasn't a time when he could be at peace with himself. 2. Prateik Babbar © Instagram/Prateik Babbar Prateik lost his mother at a very young age, so his childhood wasn't the easiest one for sure. The Dum Maaro Dum actor himself confessed that he started using drugs at the mere age of 13, only to then take the help of rehab to get out of it. 3. Sara Ali Khan © Insight Productions The name of Bollywood Superstar Saif Ali Khan's daughter Sara Ali Khan too cropped up just at the back of the drug probe linked to the suicide of Sushant Singh Rajpur. It isn't clear whether she really had anything to do with it, but the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials sure questioned her along with some other well-known celebrities. 4. Fardeen Khan © Insight Productions Fardeen Khan, the son of the late Bollywood actor Feroz Khan got involved in a drug scandal back in 2001, after which he was reportedly arrested by the NCB on the charges of possessing cocaine. He was later granted immunity in 2012 after he went on to go through the de-addiction process. 5. Ranbir Kapoor © Dharma Productions Ranbir Kapoor is one of the biggest Bollywood stars in the film industry and comes from one of the biggest Bollywood families, being the son of late actor Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh. However, like a few other Bollywood star kids, Ranbir too was linked with substance abuse with the Rockstar actor then admitting that he started using drugs back in college. “I have tried drugs when I was in film school and got into bad influence. But I realized that nothing will happen in life if I continue with drugs," he had told a publication. 6. Pooja Bhatt © Netflix The retired actress was an alcohol addict and had revealed that she started it all at the age of 16, with smoking coming on at 23. While her name reportedly did crop up in a drug scandal, it was revealed that she never did drugs like cocaine. With respect to alcohol, the actor, however, decided to put an end to it, after father Mahesh Bhatt became instrumental in convincing her to change her overall lifestyle. View the full article
