We all have crazy stories from our childhood where our parents forgot to pick us up from school someday and how dad was never able to recall which standard we studied in and had to call mom to confirm for PTM. However, it’s crazy to even think a parent would forget their own child behind in a shop or a restaurant. Well, it happens too. Actor Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife Tahira Kashyap recently shared an ‘embarrassing’ incident where she forgot her son after having lunch at a restaurant with her friends. © Instagram/Tahira Kashyap In an interview regarding her latest book, ‘The 7 Sins Of Being A Mother’, Kashyap recalled the story of how she was reminded by a restaurant staff who came running to her with the news that she had forgotten her child behind. © Instagram/Tahira Kashyap “I also forgot my child in a restaurant. I did not forget the bag or the bill but I forgot my child. The waiter came running to me and said ‘Maam aap apna baccha bhool gae’ (Maam you forgot your kid)’. I was so embarrassed and people were staring at me,” she said. © Instagram/Tahira Kashyap Obviously, the weird stares followed but parents make these mistakes all the time. She said that she has made these mistakes and it keeps happening. These blunders do not cease to happen even today but now I am more forgiving of myself. Even during my illness, when my mom took over things. She was the one who gave their tiffins to the children and I was worried ‘Oh, she gave cheese sandwiches to them two days in a row. They look just perfect together and many youngsters swear by their love story. Tahira Kashyap and Ayushmann Khurrana, who marked 19 years of togetherness this year, got married in 2008 after dating for several years. Recently, Tahira's book titled 12 Commandments Of Being A Woman which has some insane revelations about their relationship was published and she has been addressing them in her recent interviews ever since. In the book and her recent interview, Tahira revealed how they watched Shah Rukh Khan’s Asoka 11 times because that was their perfect make-out spot. “We were in college and these were the days of single theatres. There was this theatre opposite our college called Nirmaan. Chandigarh is a small city and you don’t get places to make out. So Shah Rukh Khan’s movie Asoka was playing and I used to bunk my college at times and we used to see this film. The first time, of course, we watched it very intently as we both are fans but after that, we saw it 11 times and we were very busy (making out),” she said. The worst fears came in when Ayushmann’s longest kiss in Nautanki Saala became the hot topic of discussion. Ayushmann wanted to ease her insecurities and he called her to the sets. In her book, she wrote, “I was burning with jealousy. My anger and insecurity crossed Virat Kohli’s runs. I never went to my boy’s sets. He was too conscious; that’s how he has always been. I knew this but my insecurities were getting the better of me, and I blamed him for hiding things from me. So one day, to put my fears to rest, he invited me to come with him. My boy kept trying to soothe my fears as best he could and asked me to come with him on his promotional tour. As I was driving with him and the director in the car, the latter was talking about how people were loving the kissing scene, how it was hilarious, kiss . . . something . . . kiss . . . something something . . . kiss . . . kiss. All I heard was the one word I didn’t want to. I saw that my boy was feeling uncomfortable. I could also sense that his discomfort was not about the kiss itself but for me having to hear of it.” Well, we all have had insecurities at one point or the other in our lives, but we're glad the couple's relationship has grown from strength to strength despite such issues. View this post on Instagram 3. For every woman, it’s a dream to be carried by her man in his arms but this happened rather uncomfortably for Ayushmann and Tahira. Recalling one such moment, she revealed, “I was a dainty girl now and was ready to be swept off my feet. This was way out of character for me, something my boy hadn’t signed up for. He asked if something was wrong with me. But I didn’t want to hear another word and insisted that he pick me up and take me to the bed. The mood had changed between us from playfulness to disbelief to irritation. Eventually, with much reluctance, he did fulfill my request.” Things eventually got tense between the two when Dum Laga Ke Haisha happened. On this, she wrote, “So when Dum Laga Ke Haisha happened, I was annoyed. Here he was, willingly carrying a girl who weighed twenty kilos more than him. I would say passive-aggressive things like, ‘Where there is a will there is a way. You never wanted to pick me up, I guess. How could you pick her up so easily?’ He would get frustrated and reply that he had been practicing for months. He had to carry his gym trainer on his back to prepare for the film.” She also wrote, “I wanted to yell back that if he had practiced with me all these years, he wouldn’t have needed his trainer. Instead, I sulked.” He did eventually pick her up but not the way she was imagining. He tossed her on the back like a gunny bag because that's how he had trained. View this post on Instagram 4. In one of the recent interviews, she also said that Ayushmann’s on screen intimate scenes really affected her. She said, “Vicky Donor se shuru ho gaya tha. I was at home, I was pregnant and looking like a whale. I had gained 20 kilos and every woman goes through the journey. But I kept thinking that I'm looking like this, and my husband is romancing on screen. My reactions were immature but I don't regret that at all. Yes, I did have these insecurities.” 5. Their issues eventually got ironed out when Tahira got into filmmaking. Her insecurities came to a halt and something happened that even surprised Ayushmann. In her book, she wrote, “A few years later, I was sitting with my boy in Sriram Raghavan’s office and we were watching the edit of Andhadhun. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. As I stepped out, the team asked me for my feedback. One of the points I made really surprised my boy. I said, ‘Their (Radhika Apte and my boy’s) makeout scene ends abruptly. I think we are jumping to the next scene too quickly. I was detected with DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ) in my right breast with high grade malignant cells. Simply put stage 0 cancer/ pre-cancerous stage, with cancer cells multiplying in a contained area. The result I have become a half Indian version of Angelina Jolie (since only one breast was involved)! I told my doctor now is the time to give some competition to the Kardashians since Pamela is passé. But no one listened to me, so now I have a portion of my back tissue in my breast. Perhaps now I can do chin-ups with my breasts! Jokes apart, this obstacle has given me a new definition of life. Respect itâs unpredictability and have the faith and courage to be the hero of your own drama of life. The invincible human spirit is God like, gives you the courage to endure and the will to revive. There is nothing that human spirit canât do. Also I want women of all ages to be aware. I am 35, and I was returned twice over from a mammogram. If any symptoms come up, think of it as a protective force and get yourselves examined. Also we are so obsessed with boobs. This mastectomy has left me with even more self love! Big, small, left or right inclined , gravity pulling or defying, or even none, each breast the presence or lack of it has a story to tell. Mine has made me a 2.0 version of myself! Very difficult and thanks to her that she was brave enough to take that positively, otherwise we would have broken, completely. I was in the middle of two films, I was promoting these two films - Andhadhun and Badhaai Ho. And we got to know about it on my birthday. In fact, we saw Manmarziyaan on September 14 and we got to know about this disease that day." He added, "She said that 'I just want to celebrate my life and take it head on and we are together in this - both fighting the disease while promoting the films.' It was a collective effort. I am glad that she has overcome and as we speak, she is delivering a lecture on how to fight cancer. She is an inspiration." We canât agree more on her being an inspiration. It is World Cancer Day today and while the disease is a very hard battle to fight, the people who win over it are prime examples of the fact that mental strength is what one needs to fight the battle.Bollywood celebs are often looked up to as social media influencers and fashion inspiration, but there are a few celebs out there who are respected for how gracefully and fiercely they've fought the war with cancer. Tahira Kashyap and Sonali Bendre are two such women of steel, who have been fighting this war in their own way and today, their powerful messages are a major inspiration on how one can endure anything with courage. There have been days when I've been so exhausted and in so much pain that even lifting a finger hurt. I feel like sometimes it's a cycle… one that starts off with physical pain and leads to mental and emotional pain. The bad days have been many… Post chemo, post-surgery and the like… where even just laughing hurts. Sometimes it felt like it took everything I've had to push past it… a minute to minute battle with myself. I got through it knowing that even though I was fighting a long drawn out, draining battle… it was one that was worth the fight. It's important to remember that we're allowed to have those bad days. Forcing yourself to be happy and cheerful all the time serves no purpose. Who are we being fake and putting on an act for? I allowed myself to cry, to feel the pain, to indulge in self-pity… for a short while. Only you know what you're going through and it is fine to accept it. Emotions aren't wrong. Feeling negative emotions isn't wrong. But after a point, identify it, recognize it and refuse to let it control your life. It takes an immense amount of self-care to get out of that zone. Sleep always helps, or having my favourite smoothie after chemo, or just talking to my son. For now, as my treatment continues… my visual focus remains to just get better and get back home. LAHORE: Retired Punjab University professor Tahira was killed during a robbery by the university’s electrician and his accomplices, revealed Crime Investigation Agency SP Tariq Mastoi in a press conference on Saturday. Tahira was a former professor at the Punjab University's department of Molecular Genetics and lived alone at her house, according to the police. She was found dead at her house in Lahore’s E-Block on April 18. The initial postmortem report had revealed that a sharp object was used to murder her. According to SP Tariq, the university’s electrician and his accomplices were involved in the murder of the professor. The suspects stole her mobile phone, cash and then killed her, he said. Moreover, the SP also said that as many as 10 suspects have been arrested by the police in different raids for involvement in different crimes.
